This restaurant was once my favorite place to have ribs. I’m guessing they must have new chefs on staff because the food doesn’t taste the same. This time, my ribs were dried out to the point that parts that should be juicy were crunchy. My chicken was also dried out and not succulent as before.

Haven’t been to this spot in over 8-years. Went today for my brothers birthday. We had a party of 24. Our server Jose was awesome! He served all of us, cleaned our tables and made sure we had our drinks on time with appetizers. I would go back just because of him. Great costumer service.

In business since the 50’s. They must be doing something right. The BBQ has not changed. My parents took the family there since the 70, and everything is exactly the same. The platter for two costs 60.00. I promise you won’t finish. If you haven’t been here in a while, or haven’t been at all, it’s worth the visit.

This was my go to place for BBQ. At work we ordered and drove 20 miles to pick up. Went there for father’s day and we were the first group there. We ordered and the tables around us got served before us. The table behind us had about he same amount of people in their party and we had to wait 15 mins longer to get our food. Once the food got there not everyone was served all their food, my nephew only got his steak none of his sides we kept asking for the sides, waiter couldn’t keep up. I got my coleslaw at the end of my meal. We kept asking for condiments and we had someone get up and walk to the staff area to get someone’s attention. The food was over cooked and didn’t have the same flavors I enjoyed before. Waiting so long for the food and the constant need to get the waiters attention was a complete let down especially for fathers day. Wouldn’t recommend eating there just not the same and service is awful.

I have visited this food chain in downey and bellflower , I’m so disappointed that their specialty is not the best. All the ribs (spare &babybacks)I ordered were dry, hard and burned, like if they were from yesterday’s leftovers and it was 2pm. All the ribs had barbecue paste and not sauce like they should’ve. Desert was horrible like the ribs. I don’t know what happened to the quality control. Mashed potatoes were good.

Ashamed that there are only a few still open. Good hearty grub, nice HUGE portions. Old school! I hope they NEVER modernize. I love that the menu seems to not have changed since the 60s or whenever they first opened. Great for families..or if you are by yourself, they have counter seating as well as booths.
