I recently visited Chowrasta Indian Eatery in Herndon, Virginia, and it truly impressed me with its variety, ambience, and hospitality.

They serve an unlimited breakfast buffet every day from 9 AM to 11:30 AM, which is a great way to start the day with authentic Indian flavors. For lunch, their Biryani, Pulav, and Mandi dishes are quite popular. The Guntur Kodi Vepudu, Dragon Cauliflower, and Veg Manchuria are their signature items — absolutely delicious and full of flavor.

I personally tried the Jackfruit Biryani, Dragon Cauliflower Manchuria, and Paneer Tikka Kebab, and each dish was flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared.

They also have a self-service dine-in setup with a spacious seating area, perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. The ambience is great, not overly crowded, and there’s even a sit-out area to enjoy your food and conversation. Ample parking space adds to the convenience.

The restaurant also features a bar with happy hours (4–7 PM every day), a bakery section with pastries, and their Irani Chai is a best seller — definitely worth a try!

For parties, they offer a private room for 35+ guests, free for up to 3 hours, equipped with sound, lights, and a projector. With 20–25$ per person with customized menu options, it’s an excellent spot for birthday or private gatherings.

Overall, service and hospitality are excellent, the food is authentic, and the entire experience feels well thought out.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for good Indian food and a relaxing dining atmosphere in Herndon.

My partner and I truly love this Indian restaurant. It has become part of our routine, and we order from here every other week. We’ve traveled around the U.S. and tried Indian food in many places, but nothing compares to this one. The butter chicken and chilli chicken are our go-to orders, the naan is always fresh, and the mango lassi is our favorite treat. It never disappoints and always feels like a special meal.

Just 20 mins drive from DC. We ordered both veg and non-veg. All of them are satisfying. The fried shrimps, sev puri, yellow dal, mango lassi and Irani chai are the best. Quick service. Great ambience. Will be back.

Ordered the Guthi Vankaya Pulao and it tasted really good. The pulao was very flavorful, with rice cooked perfectly—each grain was fluffy and separate, not sticky at all. The masala was on point and complemented the dish well. The price came to $16.55 including tax, which felt reasonable for the quality and taste.

Ordered Curry Leaf Chicken non-veg appetizer and tasted really good. Went here on Friday around 8pm and they had it in the tray area in the front display. Chicken was really fresh and it was around 14.35$ with tax.

Ordered Jalapeño chicken non-veg appetizer (14.35$) for the first time here and seemed to be really good. Prices seemed to be increased as well. Enjoyed it for over 2 servings.

Ordered Goat Kheema curry on other day that comes with pulav rice in a 16 oz box for $24.30. I couldn’t complain about the quality as well. Enjoyed it for over 2 servings.

Ordered Guntur Kodi Vepudu non-veg appetizer and taste was really good but very spicy. Quantity was good as well.

I recently visited this Indian restaurant Desi Chowrastha, it was absolutely delighted by the entire experience! Their Irani tea is truly exceptional — rich, perfectly balanced, and incredibly comforting. It has that authentic, nostalgic flavor that’s hard to find anywhere else.

The new cream bun is another standout item. Soft, fresh, and filled with just the right amount of creamy sweetness — it’s the perfect treat to pair with their tea.

Their spicy dishes are full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The spices are bold but well-balanced, giving every bite a satisfying kick without overpowering the taste like Dhaba style chicken curry or Goat dum Biryani.

And of course, the pani puri deserves a special mention! It’s crisp, refreshing, and bursting with tangy, spicy pani that tastes just like authentic street-style pani puri from India.

Overall, an amazing spot with great flavors and a warm vibe. Highly recommended!

Food item names on the Menu, don’t match the dishes being served. Egg Frankie was just plain scrambled eggs with salt & pepper, and some capsicum and onions, this was more like scrambled eggs wrapped in a roti! Vijaywada paneer kaju pulao was just paneer with some kaju pieces curry topped with white rice! No Frankie or Pulao look like these. Only saving grace is atleast the food was hot & fresh.

After hearing so many positive reviews from friends, I decided to grab dinner on my way back from the airport.

The special fried chicken was definitely fantastic.

However, both the boneless and dum biryani didn’t meet expectations. It could be just today, but the salt was scarce, and the masala was quite mild.

Renovations are currently in progress.

The food taste was disgusting, as an Indian restaurant people try to make up some standards, but when it comes to the Hakka noodles, it was totally disgusting. The egg was half boiled. The noodles were smelling all over the raw egg .please don’t ever try Hakka noodles from here

Food was very delicious but could be served with better care. The restaurant is going through renovation so does not hold the correct dinning out experience & ambience. Hoping next time we visit its completed repairs & ready. Because of remodeling the food doesn’t retain its display or freshness.

We had a great experience at Chowrastha! Tried a variety of items – papri chaat, paneer Frankie, Bombay grilled sandwich, veg Frankie, chole puri, mango lassi, sitafal shake, and pani puri – and everything was packed with flavor. The sitafal shake was a standout — super tasty and refreshing without being overly sweet. The pani puri was served Indian street food style, which made the whole experience even more fun and authentic. Great place for Indian street food lovers. Will definitely visit again.
