Seating is spacious – tables are spaced out so there’s plenty of free space around. The booths looked cozy – maybe next time. The pianist played while we dined.
We ordered 18 oysters: 6 West Side and 12 East Side. We also ordered Wagyu beef tartare and sushi.
The West Side oysters were okay, but the East Side oysters were absolutely terrible. Two of them had a very strong, unpleasant smell honestly similar to a public restroom smell. The shells were also yellowish, which immediately made it obvious they were not fresh. We returned the East Side oysters because it was impossible to eat them. We only ate the West Side oysters. After that my husband actually got food poisoning.
Then they brought the Wagyu beef tartare. We eat beef tartare often and it’s one of our favorite dishes, but this one looked terrible and tasted even worse.
We also ordered shrimp tempura sushi with Wagyu tartare on top. When I tried the tempura shrimp tail, it was completely soft and not crispy at all, which usually means the sushi had been sitting for a while.
Overall the experience was extremely disappointing.
To make things worse, the oysters that we returned were still included in the bill. The waiter just said “sorry,” took the oysters away (and honestly didn’t even want to take them at first), and that was it. No discount, no attempt to resolve the situation.
Unfortunately this place no longer feels like the special, high-quality restaurant it used to be. I will never come back.I absolutely do not recommend spending your time or money here. There are plenty of amazing restaurants in Naples this one is no longer one of them.
The service was clearly still in training. Our server was brand new and, unfortunately, not ready to be on the floor solo, which showed throughout the evening. The food itself was decent but felt rushed and mass-produced rather than thoughtfully prepared — more three-star execution than the elevated experience the pricing suggests.
To be fair, management was friendly, visible, and attentive, making table visits and checking in, which was appreciated. The atmosphere is excellent, and the location right on 5th Avenue is hard to beat.
There’s a solid foundation here, but for the price point, the overall experience needs refinement — particularly in service readiness and kitchen execution — to truly justify its reputation
Other than that my meal was very good – I had the Chops Braised Short Rib. My husband was not a fan of how they char the steaks so would request to not have it charred next time. Other than that, the service was good.
