Reviews
Out waitress was very nice, and explained everything we had a question about. We did receive complimentary bread and butter. The bread was very hot and freshly baked….delicious.
We both had steaks which were perfectly cooked, and seasoned.
Our seating location was quiet, and very comfortable. The soft music that was playing fit the ambiance of the restaurant. Overall it was a very enjoyable dinner. We will go back.
Reminded me of the fine downtown big-city steakhouses, the kind you have to get on a list to wait for a reservation slot, but here you don’t have to wait your turn!
My wife was able to make reservations for us using an online app, but she did provide a credit card as there is , understandably, a fee for no-shows or late cancellation.
Everyone greeted us as we were led to our table.
We were seated right at opening time in a comfortable and cozy table for two in a dimly lit seating area, with a dimmable lamp on our table.
The elegant setting was a precursor of the great food we were about to enjoy.
We were offered complimentary bread, which was a two large slices of wonderful sourdough bread, served piping hot with what must have been house made whipped and salted butter. Delicious.
We were offered sparkling, bottled or tap water, which is normal for a place of this high level.
I opted for the crab cake appetizer, which was a very good choice. Plenty of crab meat and very nicely prepared. The large variety of choices made for a tough decision; next visit I will try the lump crab appetizer.
My wife and I split the Caesar salad, which was served split on individual plates. Delicious and fresh with an excellent dressing and crushed croutons, making for an enjoyable and tasty eating experience.
The sides are ordered separately from your entrees, sometimes called New Orleans style, and the sides were portioned for two to share. We had the whipped potatoes and asparagus, both outstanding.
We ordered steak, my wife opting for a filet mignon, and I ordered the “Gleason”, a rib cap steak cooked medium rare.
The steaks were absolutely perfect, so tasty and well seasoned with perfect char.
The fats in my rib cap were perfectly rendered, a must if you serve this cut. Perfect and so flavorful.
The wine and drink selection is extensive. We opted for a house pino that was dry, as we had asked, and paired with the steaks nicely. There are also many top shelf bourbons, Tennessee whiskies, and scotches for those so inclined, notably Jack Daniel 10 and 12 year old.
We ended our meal with both the vanilla and the hazelnut creme brulee, which were light and sweet with a delicate sugar crust.
The vanilla was notably present, while the hazelnut was more delicate. We enjoyed the contrast.
All the while, the delightful young lady taking care of us was at constant ready to clean up the table, provide fresh silverware, and answer questions as needed.
A top notch dining experience with exceptional service and well curated dishes.
Come here to be pampered and enjoy the food and service.
For dessert we got the hazelnut creme brulee because I’ve never seen that on a menu before and it lived up to its name.
I highly recommend this place. It is delicious with the most top-notch service I’ve seen in a long time
To the experience? 2/10.
On Jan 13 I made a 7:30pm dinner reservation for Feb 5th for my fiancés birthday. We arrived around 6:45pm (early at no fault but our own) full house- asked to wait in vehicle (which was quite a distance away due to lack of parking) no biggie. At 7:25pm we walked back to the restaurant. We were told it would just be a few more minutes at least 7 times. We were finally sat at 8:03pm. During this period of awkwardness of standing at the front door/host desk we were asked if a high top table became available if we’d like it..I’m sorry- no. A high top bar table is not the experience I scheduled ahead for. When we were finally sat it was at quite literally the worst table in the house- directly beside the door leading out to the patio. It was about 40 degrees outside so I’m sure you can imagine how that wind rushing in each time the door swung open (which was incredibly too often) felt. Eventually we were moved tables- I’m sure they had noticed we were freezing. Sam our waiter was polite but not very attentive, I had to remind him to bring the crushed black pepper shaker for the wedge salad as well as remind him of our drink refills. We had been told -before being sat that due to the inconveniences our bill would be partially comped and a glass of champagne each and a dessert would be given to us. No champagne ever came, & dessert was included in our meal anyways? We both got the restaurant week meal deal of $55 which included first course, main course, side & dessert. The bill with the added in gratuity was $200. Highly disappointing night, especially since a 7:30pm reservation had us there till nearly 10pm. What was supposed to be a romantic birthday dinner turned into a night full of apologies. Will not be returning to the Hilton Head location.
Jake was our server and he was phenomenal. He did a great job explaining the different options, the different cuts of steak and he knew his stuff.
Food was wonderful. My partner and I got a porterhouse for two and demolished the whole thing because of how delicious it was. The NY strip was tender. Mac and cheese was 10/10.
Highly recommend!
-Our server “Pulling T” (per the receipt) was very unpleasant and rude. She didn’t like any of us asking questions and still wanted us to give her extra tip on top on the already included 22%. Which she didn’t deserve, to be honest.
-They charged us $8.00 per water (????) never in my life have I been charged for water. Turns out they serve you a “premium” water that no one asked for. I arrived there and the tables already had water served so nobody asked us if we wanted an $8.00 glass of water. (The bottle of water they serve is $3 at Kroger).
-No one liked their steaks. All of them came out the wrong temperature, some of them were even burnt and dry.
-Bread was saggy and salty.
-My $14 salad was half an iceberg lettuce (pretty small) and totally not worth the price.
-Server got mad at me when I asked for a side of avocado but still charged me $5.00 for a small portion.
-Food took an hour+ to come out. Server also was angry when we asked her about it and blamed it on my husband’s Pork Chops (????).
-They charge a CC PROCESSING FEE. Huh???
They charge you 22% gratuity so the server doesn’t have to actually earn the tip, the food is sub-par, not worth the price and seriously, when did we start serving premium water without consent? $8?? Are you for real?
The attached receipt is for my aunt ALONE! Insane prices for the amount of food and quality. These people do NOT know how to cook steak.
Not coming back and definitely not recommending to anybody.
