Good thing we had reservations and all went well. Our server was the epitome of grace and wit and knowledge of drinks and the menu. The photos are awful because the ambiance is cozy and warm. Everyone at our table had a steak that cooked as ordered. The demi-glace was sublime and the Chop House Sauce was savory and fine condiment for the beef. The duck fat fries were an absolute treat, so crispy.

We enjoyed the food, the attentive service, and the pleasant atmosphere. The space is beautifully decorated, and although the menu focuses mainly on meat dishes, it also offers a fish and vegetarian options. Overall, the prices are reasonable and offer good value.

Hubby and I tried CHT for Valentine’s Day dinner and 1st time visiting. Special menu was presented well and our choices were all very delicious. Oysters, Pear salad, steak with blue cheese crumbles and root vegetables. Scallops, asparagus with parsnip cream, cheesecake and chocolate cake for desserts. Bourbon drinks were tasty. Our server was fantastic. Atmosphere offered good vibes.. We will definitely go back.

Such a hidden gem in Staunton. The food is 10/10. The bread is melt in your mouth amazing. Avery was our server/bartender and he was incredible. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. Overall the experience, the food, the drinks, the prices were 10/10.

This has been the best place we’ve eaten in Virginia! We couldn’t get a reservation until 8:15 but came about an hour early. We decided to have dinner at the bar and not only did the bartender make us some delicious drinks our steak and scallops were cooked perfectly. The sides were delicious, we had the chèvre mac n cheese, French fries and mashed potatoes. Check this place out!

Great place! We got there with 35 minutes to go on Happy Hour, ate at the bar with friendly people and a wonderful bartender. Soon after happy hour, however, the place started filling up. It’s probably good to make a reservation.

The food and atmosphere was amazing. I must say our waitress was amazing as well. Blonde girl with her hair pulled back into a pony tail. Didn’t get her name. She was very very knowledgeable with the menu, drinks, desserts etc and friendly as well. . Top notch waitress!!!

A cool vibe when you walk in the door. Service was great. Ribeye was cooked right, but not a great cut of beef. No marbling at all. Came with one side. I chose green beans and mushrooms. They were delicious. The desserts were also very good.

My wife and I had a wonderful meal and experience at the Chop House Tavern. The food and service were excellent, the atmosphere perfect, and it’s just a perfect overall design for a small, quaint restaurant. My pork chop and my wife’s filet mignon were cooked exactly as requested. The duck fat fries were really good. We had the pork belly brussels for appetizer, which was also very good. To top off a great meal, we had the deconstructed cheese cake and house made chocolate salted caramel ice cream. Highly recommended next time you’re looking for a good meal in Staunton.
