Maxine was very nice and did her best. This hotel and restaurant needs to get management figured out. We think she was the only server on for at least 10 to 12 tables and while they had plenty of food runners, there was not a manager supporting what seemed to be a seriously understaffed server situation by someone calling in sick or something of that nature. No music was playing and it felt a little stale because of that. The food was good, but the lobster bisque was lacking. Avoid that product, especially at $17. Steaks were good, but one was substantially overcooked. Overall, we had a really good time with friends and want to be positive but they need a general manager that knows what they are doing and can execute better than what we received, and it appears many others have as well.

The Chophouse at Equinox Resort in Manchester Center, Vermont, provided a truly unforgettable birthday dinner. My significant other and I were excited to try their new menu and began with the tuna and wagyu on a hot salt block—an incredible combination of flavors and presentation.

What made the night even more special was how much our teens enjoyed the experience. As a family that typically cooks at home, dining out is a rare treat for us, and this meal exceeded all expectations. On the way home, they mentioned it was one of the best dining experiences they’ve ever had, and I couldn’t agree more. From the impeccable food to the warm atmosphere, it was a night to remember.

The Chop House provided me with a delicious meal daily. Chef Chris and the servers, hostess, bartenders are all amazing(I dont want to miss anyone so I pray all will be told how awesome they are individuallly). They paid attention to my energy and could tell what food fit my vibe for the day. That means everything to me. I travel so much, it is a special treat to have consistency in meals and service when on the road. Beyond pleased with THE CHOP HOUSE!!!!

We had a great dinner at the Chop House! To start, The staff is AMAZING! The whole crispy fish was delicious, the best I’ve ever had to be honest. The sides we perfect and delicious, asparagus, collard greens out of this world!, perfect mashed potatoes and rice. The steak was cooked perfectly at medium and tasted wonderful. We look forward to going back again.

Twenty years ago people went to the Colonnade for Thanksgiving and it was spectacular. The ice sculptures, the scents, choices of carving stations, side dishes and deserts were amazing! Always a great experience!

Unfortunately, like so many things these days, last Thursday’s experience at the Colonnade was not what it once was. I paid 300.00 for two people and cannot remember a worse dining experience. The food, with what little choices there were – was, in a word – terrible. The turkey was dry and tasteless. Diners chose from a limited selection of side dishes and carving stations. One of my favorites, turkey stuffing, was so bad I couldn’t finish it. Very disappointing. I was warned by people that the Colonnade was no longer what it once was, I should have listened! Not recommended for Thanksgiving for sure!

I’m so glad we gave this place a chance regardless of sub-par reviews. Atmosphere was cozy and sweet. There was a good mix of people: couples, larger parties, and families. Food was pretty good, service was great, atmosphere was even better. We had 7:00 reservations and were able to be seated right away. The hostess recognized on our reservation that it was our anniversary and wished us a happy anniversary. Drinks were great, appetizers were great, meals were pretty good. All food was garnished and presented beautifully. Scallops were a little under cooked but overall delish. Moral of the story: don’t let the negative reviews steer you away!!

What we got to eat:

Cocktails: bees knees
Apps: bread service & fried goat cheese (10/10 recommend, highlight of our meal easily!)
Mains: diver sea scallops & grilled wagyu burger.

I almost cancelled a reservation I had because I was hoping to sit somewhere close to the water. I am so glad I didn’t. The food was great-everyone in our 5 person party enjoyed their meals. Service was amazing, Caroline was a very attentive server and a sweet. Very kid friendly atmosphere! Thank you got a great meal!
