I really enjoyed the rice bowls—they were tasty and satisfying! My family loved the variety of sushi plates available, and it was great to see something for everyone. There were also plenty of drink and meal options, which made it easy to find something that suited all of us. A great spot for casual family dining with lots of choices!

Hands down the best sushi I’ve had in Queensland! Everything was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. I had the Wagyu Special Roll and the Tuna & Salmon Delight Special Roll, and both were absolutely amazing – generous fillings, perfect rice, and melt-in-your-mouth quality. My partner ordered the chicken karaage, which was crispy, juicy, and just as impressive.
The highlight for me was the lychee slushee — super refreshing and perfectly sweet without being overpowering. Definitely a must-try!

I typically come to this restaurant every saturday, but it has taken a turn for the worse. The staff that work inside the sushi bar have always been loud and disruptive, lacking any work ethic, but i excused it as the food is decently good and most waitresses were kind and accommodating. However, last saturday it appears they have changed the staff up, and i when i tried to request anything or talk to anyone about customizing a meal i was either ignored or told that i could not change it. Not to mention, this place has become outright disgusting. I entered the place and then i was hit by a smell of something absolutely diabolical, must have been sewage or something. I was seated at the back on the train, and i witnessed multiple cockroaches scavenging around, it was a horrendous sight to see. Really hope they deal with the staffing soon, or i will not be returning.

We had an early dinner this weekend with my two kids, and it was our first time eating at Choo Choo Japanese Restaurant. Our family loves Japanese cuisine, so we decided to give it a try. The sushi rolls were delicious, and I ordered the donburi karage. The portion was generous and worth the price, though it was a bit salty—I’m not sure if it was the chicken breading or the sauce on top. Overall, the food was great. I’m also particular about service, and the staff were nice and friendly. The young man who greeted everyone was energetic and lively, really bringing the Japanese vibe to the experience. He even recommended a child-friendly sushi for my 2-year-old, which she loved. Kudos to him for his excellent service. Some of the other female staff greeted customers shyly and with soft voices, which made it seem like they were already tired, but that’s understandable given it was a busy day. I would definitely come back if we have the chance to visit again.

As a regular customer, cannot compliment this place enough!
We even asked John to make us something off menu which my wife knows from her childhood back in a particular sushi shop in small town USA. John was so patient and accommodating and in the end, he perfected it and bought back such a childish grin of excitement from my wife!
Hopefully they can include this on their menu for so many others to enjoy!

Usually a great experience, but tonight the airconditioning was broken and it was way hotter inside than outside. Outside was still over 30°C at 5 pm. No fans or alternate ventilation. Spent most of my meal smelling the deodorant of the guy sitting behind me. Perhaps put a sign out the front letting everyone know the aircon is broken?

Restaurant is very modern and clean. The design of the restaurant is like a train and movie. All Food are absolutely delicious and staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a playground outside for kids to play. Definitely going back again. Looking forward to try more dishes!

Friendly welcome when coming in and assistance to find suitable seating. Great ordering system on a tablet, gluten free catered for as well. Staff available when you need them and quick bill and payment. The food was delicious and fresh. Will definitely be back, so really hope the same standard will continue.
