Had a wonderful dining experience here! The food was absolutely delicious, and you can really tell the quality from the first bite especially the meats, which were perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor without being over or underdone. We ordered the Achari Murgh Kebab, Royyala Veppudu, Tandoori Murgh, Mughlai Chicken Biryani, Malabar Parota, purani Delli Ki Papri Chaat, and Lamb Madras, and every single dish was outstanding. The kebabs were juicy, the seafood was flavorful, the biryani was rich and aromatic, and the lamb madras was cooked to perfection with deep, balanced spices. Each dish was oozing with freshness and taste. The staff were also very down-to-earth, welcoming, and attentive, which made the experience even better. This place is a must-try, and I highly recommend these dishes if you visit definitely coming back again!

Food:
Went with my girlfriend, it’s my favorite cuisine, it was delicious. Cashew curry is an old favorite, and tikka masala is classic so we tried and loved both. Not spicy at all if you prefer the mild side you’d enjoy the options here. And there were spicy options that I will be trying next time.
Service:
There were strands in our food that I was worried were something like plastic but it was just ginger and the manager and server were very attentive to the request to check. Also we did have a reservation that we were on time for but had a 5+ minute wait. Not a huge issue for me but it should be mentioned.
Atmosphere:
We dined around 7:30pm, it was quite busy, all tables taken and a few groups waiting outside from time to time.
Also I eat a toooooon but the food was quite filling. I left feeling satiated and honestly looking forward to my next dinner here

Chola Coastal Indian Cuisine – Where every bite tells a story and every corner whispers elegance, where every dish is a work of art, and every moment is unforgettable. Everything from the grill to the plate smells and tastes delicious.
We tried the Dak Bungalow Murgh Curry,
Paneer Khurchan,
Paneer Malai Tikka,
Martha Stewart’s Favorite Murgh Malai,
Chicken Biryani, and
Martha Stewart’s Favorite Onion Naan.
For dessert, we had the Kolkata Tomato Chutney—a refreshing sweet chutney with Panch Phoron and gulab jamun with rasmalai twist, beautifully decorated with chocolate sauce. The Murgh Malai was incredibly tender—definitely a must-try dish! The food was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. More than a meal, it’s an experience.
The cozy ambiance and friendly staff made it a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy flavorful Indian cuisine in a welcoming setting. This is a restaurant where people from all backgrounds—not just Indians—can enjoy the food.
Thank you for the amazing service and for making our dining experience truly wonderful. Everything—from the food to the attention we received—was perfect. We felt genuinely cared for and will definitely be coming back! ❤️

Absolutely loved our meal at Chola! We had the chili shrimp, Mangalore fish fry, and the coastal chicken gassi — every dish was bursting with flavor and hit the perfect spice level. Bold, authentic coastal Indian cuisine done right. Highly recommend!

Fragrant delicious food combined with beautiful understated service make restaraunt magic at Chola. We were suprised and delighted from the first appetizer. Every course and plate was so well done! And served with quiet warmth and care. Absolutely coming back here with my family. This is the kind of place that soothes the rough edges of the world.

The lobster ghee roast is INSANE. Make sure to order it with paratha in addition to rice, because you’re going to want something to sop up the amazing sauce with.

Over priced is an understatement. Ordered Ras Malai and Kulfi for $20 & got 1 piece of ras malai with barely any milk. The pictures speak for themselves. I understand inflation etc but at some point enough is enough. Ras malai was good but $10 for the portion received was highway robbery

Chola is a fine fine Indian restaurant in midtown NYC. The restaurant has reservations available and they also accept walk-ins. They have a very unique menu with a lot of dishes from the coastal side of India. We tried the Chicken Chili and Bombay Duck fry and both were very delicious. For the entree’s we took the black pepper chicken and the Malabar paratha. Overall it was a great dining experience.
