At Chivos, we have always believed that truly great Mexican food is more than just an endless combination of beans, rice and tortillas.

Great little Mexican spot! Solid food, I was pleasantly surprised. I think the food is better than LC. A decent amount of tables, so shouldn’t be terrible getting seated even on a busy night. They also have a ton of TVs lining both sides of the restaurant, so would be great for game day.

At first, I loved this restaurant! I visited it at least twice per week, but as of late, the quality of their food when ordered for take out has been very disappointing, to say the least! $60 worth of food and not even half is edible when arriving home, just 2-3 minutes away from the restaurant, literally! I order nachos, which is mush by the time I arrive home. This restaurant is definitely hit and miss, but IF their standards rise to the level they were when this place originally opened, then I’d recommend it to everyone. I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but after the 6-7 time of the same routine with this restaurant, I felt like I needed to put my two sense in!

Service was quick, friendly and professional. The food was delicious, Mahi, Mahi fish tacos, a soup and rice. I’m not usually a fan of the rice side dish at most Mexican restaurants but this one was good. The chips were warm and the salsa was spicy and good along with the refried bean dip. I’ll be back!

Won’t be returning for sure and if we had known it only changed names from Chuy to Chivos, we never would have gone back in the first place. It wasn’t the absolute worst Mexican in the world but they are trying to claim it’s “made from scratch Mexican” and that couldn’t be the furthest from the truth. This is stated everywhere from the Northsore magazine to their Facebook page. The chips were thick and hard and definitely store bought, the tamale was a blonde white color that I’ve never seen on a tamale before and the Chile rellano tasted like it had been sitting in grease for quite a while with parts of the breading being hard and stale. The tortillas are not homemade. I even asked about that one. I make my own homemade tortillas at home and believe me it makes a big difference. The rice is orange in color with diced up carrots and corn in it. They had to change their name because of the Chuy’s chain that actually does make their tortillas homemade and the steak for their fajitas is tender quality steak actually cooked to order instead of steak that’s so thin it’s impossible to cook to the temperature that the customer wants. I like mine medium rare and that’s exactly what I get every time at the real Chuy’s in the most amazing soft pillowy flour HOMEMADE tortillas that are pressed out and cooked right before your eyes. I’m glad they made you change your name because you will never live up to those standards until you change how you run your restaurant. I don’t appreciate a restaurant claiming to offer something they don’t really have and deceiving their customers. I ordered a to go order once before for my son who was in the hospital and had all these same complaints about his food but I thought this was a new restaurant. That’s the only reason we went back but it will never happen again. Chivos, shame on you for claiming you have fresh homemade quality food when in reality you just cut corners and strive for quantity over quality. I’ll give you one thing and that’s all and that is that the top shelf margarita was pretty good. Otherwise, don’t waste your time and money.

It’s a Tex-Mex place, good food, great service, and a nice well lit restaurant. There is a bar here and to-go service is an option. They serve bean dip and salsa with chips upon seating you, and then serve your beverage. I’ve been here multiple times with my husband and we’ve always enjoyed whatever we’ve gotten. I recently had the taco salad which was a great tasty meal, the meat was seasoned well and it wasn’t soggy with grease the way some places are. My husband got a combo dinner plate (the Rosarito Grande) with a soft beef taco, 2 chicken enchiladas, and a tamale with rice and beans and said it was delicious. We’ve had the Churros for dessert on a previous visit and they’re delicious, plated with whipped cream and chocolate and caramel sauce. The servers are what make this place a great experience though, every time we’ve been the server has been quick, efficient, not overbearing, but makes sure the table is good and not needing anything. It can be a bit crowded at times as it’s a small place and seems to stay busy, but if you’re having a craving for Tex-Mex give it a shot!

Authentic Mexican food! So good! And the pineapple cilantro margarita was amazing, and you actually get a big one for a great price. Found my new go to for Mexican food.

Ordered $80 worth of take out food, when I got home I had one of the small roaches in my kids tacos. I immediately drove 20 minutes back to the restaurant and the manager/owner refused to remake food and said it didn’t come from here. I literally opened the box and put it on a plate for my 4 year old and there it was. I wasn’t asking for my money back just to remake my kids food. This place is has absolutely horrible customer service and will never be returning.
