There are plenty of staff here, but they are more focused on chatting than actually working. I ordered online 30 minutes ago, and a simple bowl of rice still isn’t ready.

Orders that are already ready are being kept behind the counter. I’m not sure why they’re so worried about theft, but it’s slowing everything down and wasting people’s time.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received during the afternoon shift at Chipotle. The staff on duty were unprofessional, inattentive, and acted like they genuinely didn’t care about their jobs or the customers in front of them.
What stood out the most was the way they were talking — both to each other and to customers. Their tone and attitude made it seem like they simply didn’t give a shit about providing decent service. They were joking around, speaking casually in a way that felt dismissive, and responding to basic questions with visible annoyance. It felt like helping customers was the last thing they wanted to do.
There was no sense of urgency, no friendliness, and no effort to create a welcoming environment. Instead, it felt like customers were an inconvenience. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on the business and creates an uncomfortable experience.
I expect much better from a place like Chipotle. I hope management addresses the attitude and professionalism of the afternoon shift staff, because the current level of service is unacceptable.

I’ve eaten at a lot of Chipotle locations over the years, and while the food is usually consistent, my experience at the Evanston Chipotle was by far the worst I’ve ever had. I ordered my usual steak bowl, and halfway through eating I bit down on something hard only to realize it was a bone in the steak. That immediately ruined the entire meal for me. Chipotle is supposed to serve tender, properly prepped cuts of meat, and finding a bone like that not only shows a lack of quality control but also feels unsafe.

Aside from the bone, the food itself was sloppy and poorly put together. The steak was unevenly cooked, some pieces chewy and others burnt. The rice was under seasoned, and the guacamole had that brownish tinge that makes you wonder how long it had been sitting out. It’s one thing when a meal doesn’t taste great, but when it feels like no one in the kitchen is paying attention to what’s going into the bowl, that’s a much bigger issue.

The service didn’t do much to help either. The staff seemed rushed and disinterested, tossing ingredients together without care. I get that Chipotle is fast casual, but there’s still a level of professionalism and attention to detail that should be expected, especially when you’re paying extra for proteins like steak.

Finding a bone in my food is something I can’t overlook, and it makes me question the safety and standards of this particular location. I’ve never had that happen at any other Chipotle. Between the poor preparation, the lackluster service, and the serious oversight with the steak, I can confidently say I won’t be coming back to this location again

Constantly have to pick up from here for door dash. They make all delivery orders in back and don’t bring them up when they are ready.
The other day after waiting 10 minutes my app says “customer order is ready” 5 more min goes by and they bring out 10 orders at once.
I get that they are getting slammed with orders but maybe have another employee on to help move us out of here.
As I’m typing this I’ve been waiting 16 minutes for a burrito bowl. That I’m making $5 to deliver.

Unbelievable experience at Chipotle. Waited for an hour just to be told they “can’t find my order in the system.” Truly impressive! Last time it took them 40 minutes to serve a kid’s meal — guess that’s a huge improvement? Absolutely legendary service speed — if we were timing glaciers, maybe we’d beat them. By the time I finally got my food, my kid had outgrown the age for a kid’s meal. The staff at the front desk were a real treat — the only thing they could offer was “no, we don’t know,” like that was somehow helpful. It took an entire hour for them to finally remember that maybe, just maybe, someone could check my order. At this point, I’m convinced they’ve invented a new level of incompetence in customer service. Truly revolutionary.

If you have something in the afternoon and plan to order online for pickup, just roll a dice. If you don’t get a 6, don’t bother ordering, because you have a 3/6 chance of not making it in time for your schedule, and a 2/6 chance of not getting your meal at all.

Very poor experience. The staff of the afternoon shift, at the front were unprofessional, joking among themselves, avoiding eye contact, and speaking so quietly that it was hard to understand them. When I asked to change my meal to another bowl, they handled it carelessly and threw it away as if it wasn’t food. Very disappointing service.

I want to the library and ask my sister if there was something she needed she told me to get her Chipotle so I did after my friend and her little sister with a Minnie mouse hat I gave them the order. When it was time for toppings I asked for lettuce and they gave me guacamole. My sister is allergic to aguacados but I didn’t have a heart to tell them that I didn’t want the guacamole on it so I pocket it said bye to my friend and went to another Chipotle to get my sister’s burrito. The workers were very nice.

I ordered a bow with extra rice and double protein. My partner had ordered a small light bowl. I thought her bowl was mine, given that it weighted almost twice as much. This meal was so freaking expensive due to the extra portions, it was like a freaking kid meal. I immediately let my food get cold ( it was already lukewarm) to try and get it refunded. On top of that, onions that are thick, as big as the steak I had. Just horrible.

I had ordered guacamole and chips. The guac was so freaking slimy and grainy. It’s so disgusting, it feels horrible and has no taste. I even had to spit it out because it was so bad.

This happened because I forgot to order from the other location. I actively avoid this location because of the small portions, horrible service (one time the worker told me there was no lettuce, only for her to fill it back literally 10 seconds after).

This place is horrible and needs a change. The only thing they’ll reply is “contact us in our webpage!” Despite it being FULLY AUTOMATED with no humans! Imagine if I had a freaking dead worm or something! How would I even voice SAFETY hazards if I can’t even contact a human? Why are we getting food from a place like this? For all we know someone in the morning had worms in their food! Chipotle is well known for worms and E. coli.

If this place had any decency they’d refund my entire meal. July 18 around 6 PM, you already had like 3 separate automated support contacts and an email. You know which one it is, refund it.

Made a grave error and ordered a burrito bowl online. It came less than half-full and was missing several ingredients, including ones I paid extra for. They fully expected me to eat a meager amount of rice, wilted lettuce, and brown guacamole as a meal, it seems.

I’ve tried many chipotle and this by far stands as the worst one I’ve visited. My partner got a double chicken bowl and I got a chicken bowl – both our food quantity was literally the same. The staff refused to add more rice – there was barely one spoon of rice in our bowls and the staff just spread it out so it looked like it occupied the entire bowl. Despite asking, she took the rice in her serving spoon, touched jt to my bowl and put the rice back? Just say you won’t give more instead of this circus. I understand cutting down on the meat but rice and toppings? I paid the price of a chicken bowl only to eat a veggie bowl – barely any chicken, barely any rice. Run your business but not at the cost of customer’s dime.
