I ordered a carne asada bowl and three chicken tacos, and I’m still trying to figure out what I actually paid for.
The carne asada bowl was a half bowl experience — one half had food, the other half looked like it was either:
1. already eaten by an employee, or
2. left empty as part of Chipotle’s new “imagination-based dining” concept.
There were maybe a few pieces of carne asada (I counted… twice). No rice at all. Not even a single grain hiding at the bottom. And the tomatillo green chili salsa? Missing in action.
Now let’s move on to the chicken tacos.
Also missing:
• White rice ❌
• Fresh tomato salsa ❌
What I did receive was tortillas filled with disappointment and regret.
And to top it all off — no utensil was provided, which really completed the experience. I guess I was expected to scoop the half-empty bowl with my hands or just stare at it in disbelief.
At this point, Chipotle’s business model seems pretty clear:
Charge more, give less, and see how long customers tolerate it.
Lake Zurich location — thanks for the lesson in portion control. Next time I’ll just Venmo you the money and imagine the food.

this is a really bad chipotle location, and i mean REALLY BAD. please save your time/money and just go to the kildeer location. it’s a shame because its close to home and very convenient on where it’s situated.
order was placed via doordash and the person making the bowl missed the lettuce AND the guac which i payed extra for. i was going to get a refund so no big deal, it happens. however the only reason why i did a review…the worst part? undercooked rice. there was actual rock solid rice bits in there.i couldn’t eat it after that.
this was my first impression at this location and i’ve never been served undercooked rice at any chipotle before. this place was a first, and that’s not a very good first.
i wish i looked at the rating before ordering from here 🙁

Nightmare at this chipotle, none of the workers seem to care about what they are doing, place is a mess and not kept clean throughout the day. Serving portions are poor. I asked for a side of salt, every other chipotle I’ve been to has never questioned it. Here they told me that they don’t have salt and they don’t give out sides of salt. The only plus to this chipotle is that the parking lot is always empty so there is ample parking. Picture shows how my buddies burrito was wrapped.

I have given this place far too many chances…
First week of opening they messed up my pick-up order. I get it, it was the first week of opening and the establishment/employees are new, no issue.
Although, It has been almost a year of opening, and the issues are still there. Their portion sizes are way too small compared to the chipotle 5 minuets down the road in Deer Park, and other chipotles I’ve been too. Chips are always stale, chicken/rice is dry, and overall god awful food. Would not recommend coming here .

Wish I could give it 0 stars. Got here at 10:39pm: they close at 11pm…doors locked. Two employees walking around and just stare at me laughing and don’t say anything. Why have posted hours on the door and Google but be closed early. Unbelievable.
Update. Called location and they answered. Asked why there doors were locked and they were running around 22 minutes before close and his answer was “we’re all out of food”. RIGHT…

I do not want to be a Karen but I write reviews when I’m upset or disappointed in service. I walked in at 830pm (closing is 10pm) they already put away all the toppings and ingredients. So, as I’m trying to tell them what I want from the ingredients not being displayed they poured a heavy amount of red sauce on my bowl. My bowl was swimming in sauce and I did not want to speak up at this point and cause an issue. In addition to this, I ordered a kids meal and they asked chips or fruit – I said chips but then they’re like no chips left…. But like can’t there be a kids bag opened to add kids size chips at 830 pm where the store has more customers coming in? Shouldn’t it be prepared and on hand. Not even close to closing where they aren’t providing proper service.
This is not a location thing but more corporate- but I had to down load the app to add a quesadilla order as I’m in line and that’s kind of rude to people behind me. Don’t know why I can’t just order an quesadilla while I’m there? And I wanted to add fajitas to my bowl but was told that’s an online order only?
Lastly, at the register they messed up the order and needed 2 people to help clear it but that took away from serving customers behind me and I already was holding the line with downloading the app but like the management is horrible here. I looked at other reviews and it’s definitely not me acting entitled this location is not Great sadly

The people that work here – specifically the ones making the bowls/burritos just simply do not care. I asked when they will expect some more carnitas because the ones she put in my kids bowl were at the very bottom of the pot – hard and very dry. See pictures. I was told no – that’s all they have. It’s was 1pm in the afternoon….. then on my bowl, she put about a teaspoon of cheese. Overall very disappointed in the service and food.

**Update!!! Change my opinion! I went there a while ago and wasn’t impressed. The food everywhere grossed me out but I went recently and it was awesome. The people were on it, it’s way cleaner and the food was great. I had the steak and it was good! I know this is crazy but why are their fountain drinks so good?

Came to this chipotle 30 minutes before they were supposed to close at 11. There
