We placed an online order for 10:50 a.m. pickup while heading out of town and needed something quick. After waiting in the drive-thru line, an employee finally came to the window and told us the store had no power and couldn’t complete the order.
The power outage was obviously beyond their control. The disappointing part was the lack of communication and service recovery—no real apology, no explanation of the refund process, and no effort to make it right.
We tried canceling in the app—no option. The “Pepper” chat was useless and stopped responding. Calling the store meant navigating multiple prompts before reaching a customer service rep who wasn’t at the store and couldn’t resolve it quickly. After about 10 minutes, we finally secured a refund—but it shouldn’t have been that difficult.
If the app tracks order progress in real time, why not update it to show the order was canceled so customers don’t waste a trip? We placed the order nearly an hour in advance. And if a store can’t fulfill an order, refunds should be processed automatically without customers having to chase them down.
I miss the Chipotle of the late ’90s and early 2000s—when service was fast, reliable, and the food and portions were consistently great.
From years of managing restaurants and retail, I’ve always believed in focusing on the customer in front of you. If a customer is there and the phone rings, you ask if they will hold. On two occasions, I placed an order online for drive-through pickup. I arrived at my scheduled time and watched as an employee, a larger woman with ear gauges, finished an order. She printed a label and placed it next to several other orders. Despite being only three feet from me, separated by glass, she never acknowledged me. Instead, she started another order, finished it, printed a label, and set it on a shelf three feet from the drive-up window. She then started another order and another, never acknowledging my presence.
By this time, several cars had lined up. Note that this location doesn’t have the standard drive-through order window; this window is exclusively for people who have placed orders online. I was shocked as the woman kept making order after order while I sat there. Eventually, she opened the window, asked my name, and handed me a bag that had been sitting there the entire time.
A few weeks later, I returned, and the same thing happened. She filled order after order, all while ignoring me. Frustrated, I honked my horn to get her attention. She was very rude as I explained that I just wanted my food. Once again, it was one of the bags that had been sitting there.
I understand that orders need to be filled, and maybe they need to hire more people. However, it’s also a customer service issue when an employee is oblivious or doesn’t care about their surroundings, not even acknowledging a customer who has been waiting for several minutes. She also skimps on the meat. Its like playing Where’s Waldo only trying to find the meat.
My order was placed through the app. I did not realize the issues with it until I was 20 minutes away from the location. I did reach out, the remedy for this issue was to give me a free soda. Not impressed! I will not be going back to this location.
and soft. This location has really declined since they opened.Barbacoa bowl. chips and salsa.
This chipotle or ordered the same old. On this specific order I ordered extra cheese. There is barely any cheese. Not to mention the rest of the portions are POOR. I’m not one to complain on Google but when you buy chips, a bowl and a drink and it’s $16, you’d expect a decent meal. What I got was a joke and I’ll never be back. This isn’t the first time. Get your s*** together.
This is the second time I’ve had to sit in the pickup lane for over a half hour. Once you are in, you are stuck too so no option to leave. This time I received the incorrect order to boot and their site’s contact/help center doesn’t even work or let me submit.
