Update: I received a response to my review. Customer service sent me a link that didn’t work. The link didn’t open to anything other than Chipotle’s homepage. What a JOKE!!!
I do not recommend this Chipotle! I usually like to treat myself to Chipotle once a week. Today (2/4/26) I went to this Chipotle in Ankeny. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! First, the restaurant was trashed. Most all the tables were dirty. There was a big water puddle by the condiment and drink area. Just nasty! There were about 7+ people working behind the counter. None of them seemed to care how bad the restaurant looked. I started to order and was told they ran out of chicken so I would have to wait up-to 5 minutes till it was ready. How do you run out of chicken before the evening rush?? The serving person was very stingy with all the portions. I’ve never had any complaints about the portion sizes at any other Chipotle’s I’ve been to. I always order a chicken bowl at the store on Merle Hay in Des Moines or the one in Waukee, it costs about $9.75. For a veggie bowl here it was $10 and something with NO meat.
Do not eat here!! There are much better Chipotle’s around the area. There are also much better places to eat at. Unfortunately, this restaurant gives all the other Chipotle’s a bad reputation and is more expensive. I will never go back to this restaurant again!!!

this place is so gross. the music was awful and blaring. I couldn’t hear the kid who was taking my order while all the rest were socializing and acting obnoxious. I’m never going back to this location.

Visited this place over the weekend after seeing their new high-protein marketing campaign, and was very glad that I did, because it was both a positive move and a tasty dish. I cannot get that many grams of protein from a fast food place ordinarily, Kind staff throughout, and the abundant sunshine of the day was visiting!

I went tonight around 7:20 pm. I ordered a bowl online, and I got there to look in the bag, and it was a bowl with tortillas. I asked if I could have my order made right and the guy said “due to the high demand of orders I just made you a bowl and gave you some tortillas so you could make it yourself, I did give you extra in the bowl” mind you when I asked for it to be fixed he wasn’t doing anything, mind you there where 2 people in line and zero other online orders. He basically refused to make my order right by just saying, “Have a good night.” Not to be a grouch but, I’m pretty sure it’s their job to make the Burrito, not me! Definitely nothing extra in the bowl, either more rice than anything

It was slammed when we came but we eventually got our online order. Poor guy. There was only one person doing pick-up! The food was perfect when it came out though so it was totally worth the wait! Plenty of seating everywhere!

I like the burritos it has a good flavor and all that, but i don’t like the portion of meet that they serve like 3 or 4 pieces is too little for the price. and also they don’t have the tables clean and the garbage can is always full if this can be better it will be nice… hope they can give more portion of meet that will be great

This Chipotle franchise should just close its doors for good. I have low expectations for fast food, but today was the worst quantity and quality I’ve ever had from Chipotle. I got bean water and drizzles of sour cream. The pictures speak for themselves. When I asked the employee if they had more in the back, the employee said maybe, but would have to check.

My wife Pam and I went to Ankeny early this afternoon for a few items at Sam’s Club and decided to make a stop at our favorite chipotle Mexican Grill for lunch. I’ve been wanting to try their new
Chicken Asada in a bowl and glad I did. This new entree comes with generous chunks of tender moist chicken, I had mine on a bed of dark rice, with black beans, corn and cheese, along with chipotle’s awesome hot sauce. We have never ever had a bad experience at this location and always make a point of eating here every time we come to Ankeny. The staff are always upbeat, friendly and helpful, a great crew.
I highly recommend this restaurant and as you can see from the photo they received my coveted Clean Plate Award.

The food was great and the staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the music in the restaurant was so loud that it made ordering difficult and having any sort of conversation impossible. I’d definitely come back for the food, but I hope they turn the volume down to make the dining experience more enjoyable.

Usually i am satisfied with my service here but the past month my service has been poor. This location is always out of things… The workers are not happy to be working there and their negativity projects on their customers making me feel like i am asking for too much for my order that i am paying for.. Simply today i went and asked for a chicken cheese quesadilla. i got only a tortilla with barely any cheese. This was my meal with sides… I didn’t even get asked what I wanted for sides I request corn in my quesadilla and it was placed on the side. just upsetting i pay for “extras” and didn’t get it. The place was as very messy as trash was everywhere. This location has to do better. Close down the store if you won’t have enough products to make a meal for your customers.
