Chipotle reviews are unfortunately highly divergent. We look at reviews to help guide our restaurant selections, but I believe for chain restaurants they are very dependent on which staff is working on any day. Plus the reviews are typically biased toward the negative side, since if someone has a bad experience they more often than not will submit a (bad) review… Perhaps that’s how it should be.
We previously went to the lowest rated (1.7) Chipotle in the greater Smyrna GA area. I gave it a 4 and its average has since improved to 2.1. This time we selected the highest rated Chipotle in the area (3.7, on Floyd Road in Mableton). I also gave it a four. The location is relatively new, clean, and the staff was polite.
We had burrito bowls, with carnitas, regular chicken and honey chicken. The food was the normal Chipotle fare, except it seemed to have a little less seasoning overall, but with a little more heat. I had the carnitas bowl and one bite of something included a much hotter chunk of something. I also asked for some cilantro on top, and was told they don’t do that, not even with an add-on charge. My experience with Chipotles in other states found them much more likely to accommodate my request.
We went on Father’s Day at 730pm, and it was not very busy (with more take out versus dine in). It could be very different on other days or times.

The establishment was clean and the staff were very patient and friendly. They moved with a sense of urgency and effeciently communicated with customers. My problem however is with the quesadilla that I ordered that looked and tasted as if no effort was put into it. Would come back to the establishment but definitely not for a quesadilla.

This was the actual worse experience, so bad that I will never be a patron of Chipotle ever again. Nancy, the manager was told that the food was packaged in a way where the contents made the bag wet and my food dropped out of the bag when I got home. I went back after calling the restaurant twice to notify them, but with no answer. I went back to the store and Nancy asked me begrudgingly, where is the rest of the food, I said everything fell but I could salvage it except this. She took the food and came back with a terrible attitude and said take the bag, when I asked for the manager she said it she made the food didn’t she and refused to tell me her name when I said I would report this instance. And closed the door. This customer service is extremely poor and truth be told. I will never come here again. After getting handed food in such a way I threw it away because of that type of vitriol I could not feel safe eating it.

At the price of a bowl, I wish Chipotle would stop being so stingy with the meat. I went in today to get a bowl. The guy put a heap of rice, about half the amount of beans, and even less in protein… The old “distract them with a lot of rice” trick is how I saw it. The chicken is already minced into small fragments, probably to make it look like you got a decent amount, when really what you get is all of nothing. If you ask for a tad more, no can do… but they’ll sell you “double meat”. I don’t even want a double meat portion… I just wanted a sprinkle more so that every time I get a bowl from Chipotle, I’m not left with only rice and beans halfway through the bowl!!! I’m so tired of these establishments reducing the product but not the price.

I just sat and watched the line workers for a while after they gave me the smallest burrito I’ve ever been given. I noticed they consistently gave black customers HUGE burritos and any white person child portions. Any other chipotle gives the correct portion. The staff clearly did this on purpose. And I’m the farthest thing from a complainer, but it just pissed me off. The cashier also tossed my burrito in the bag, I know it sounds ridiculous but you should have seen it…

The food is good but the friendly staff makes it better. They’re so easy going and don’t mind smiling at ya with some social interaction while prepping your food. Sometimes that can really make someone’s day better even the customer

I understand working in food service is very annoying and customers can be rude and illogical, but the people who work here aren’t kind to anyone lol. This is a burrito I got after ordering online at 8:45pm, a little over two hours before they close. It’s not hard not to give customers, who are just there to get their food and leave, a stank attitude and poor portions. Just lazy :/
