I went in to order a burrito bowl. There was a small mistake with the toppings—no big deal at first—but what happened next was completely unacceptable. After the error, one of the line workers began blaming me for her mistake and speaking negatively about me in SPANISH to the manager on duty, right in front of me. What they didn’t realize is that I understand Spanish. When I spoke up and said “Yo entiendo español,” both she and the manager quickly went silent, but the damage was already done.
What made this worse is that the manager on duty didn’t stop the behavior—he let it happen until I confronted it. I later spoke with him directly, and while he apologized, it was clear that nothing would’ve been said or done had I not spoken up. For a location that hasn’t been open long, this kind of disrespectful and unprofessional treatment of customers is unacceptable.
To make matters worse, this store already has other issues. I’ve been approached by panhandlers and individuals who appear to be under the influence around and inside the restaurant, which makes the dining experience uncomfortable.
This Chipotle needs serious improvement in customer service and store management. No one should be treated the way I was—especially after being a supportive customer since day one.
A employee next to her telling her in Spanish, what the toppings are maybe she’s in training maybe not but she had no idea what I was saying and I had to point to every single topping that I wanted. This isn’t a one time thing this is every single time I come to this Chipotle portion sizes are small. And they speak no English at all I’m sick of having to point and gesture to every single topping before I can get my bowl right this is unacceptabe.. if you’re going to hire someone to work at the front and talk to people, they should at least know what tomato means now I’m not saying that she shouldn’t work there. I’m saying she shouldn’t be able to be at the front and she doesn’t understand what she’s doing and not to mention their little side conversations in Spanish every time I give a face i’m sure they’re saying something negative about me. They’re lucky. I don’t understand Spanish.if this happens one more time, I’m done
