Normally I love Chipotle food but I visited this Chipotle in Freehold NJ on 28 Feb 2026 and found it to be very nasty. And I’ve visited a lot of chipotle restaurants. At this location, there was trash overflowing as you walk in the door. Also, as they served the food to each customer, you could see how dirty the food line area was. There was dried up food like it had been there for a while because they are not wiping up as they make messes. Dried up meat and beans and spilled lettuce and cheese all over. It’s okay to make a mess but clean up as you’re serving the food. It gives us a bad impression like this is a dirty restaurant. The food was okay, although the guacamole was on the last spoonful, and I had to ask the young lady to bring out a fresh batch. Also, an older man came up and asked for a fork , which meant there were none available in the self serve area where they have the utensils. Please try to do better and keep the food line clean. First impressions mean a lot thank you.

Been coming here over 12 years. The food changed and got worse. The service is terrible. It is horribly managed (slow door dash pick ups, items missing, no forks when dining in, dirty tables, garbage stacked up) very disappointing how bad it got. The last time I went I saw a pallet in back that said keep refrigerated just sitting out and I highly doubt they were empty boxes stacked so perfectly.

They need to have someone designated to clean tables. Every time I enter the store at various days and times, I never see a clean table. Then the server behind the counter that makes the food should not be the person replenishing condiments as I had to wait for the server to get the stuff then fill up the bin. Expediency is a plus. This should be done by the kitchen staff after counter help notifies kitchen she needs whatever is needed. Parking lot is chaotic as it’s too limited for the amount of stores in the strip mall.

I don’t know if it’s the procedure, but this location is severely understaffed.
It’s slow as it is to place orders here, so I place 3 mobile orders to pick up to accommodate time. The bags are kept in the back (I get it, theft). I shouldn’t have to stand there and wait 10 minutes to pick up an order I placed 40 minutes ago. Otherwise I would go through the slow line

I LOVE chipotle. This location was terrible. I usually don’t leave reviews- I try to give the benefit of the doubt that it was just one rough day, and maybe today was a rough day… but this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. All the employees were rude and acted like we were causing issues and inconveniencing them.
They ran out of white rice- okay fine, I didn’t mind waiting a few minutes for fresh rice. But then they didn’t have black beans or barbacoa. No offers to make more, no ‘it’ll be a few minutes’, just blank stares, exasperated tone of voice and a rude ‘you can have chicken’.
Very disappointed another location is ruined by nasty employees.

Went there with my son. Kids and young adults enjoy this chain for some reason. The place is messy, tables are rarely cleaned, food is very mediocre. If you enjoy standing in line for a burrito or a salad mixed with high salt chopped up poor quality meat, and then eating at dirty metal table, this place is for you.

I was here early afternooon around 12:45-1pm on10/22 and the two women working the line were absolutely delightful! The first woman had a white or very light blonde ponytail and was so friendly and polite and smiling- I watched her interactions with every guest be super positive with many people thanking her and wishing her a good day!! Not often you receive such a fantastic service with a smile from someone seemingly really enjoying their job it was a warming experience I wish this woman a lifetime of happiness! Thank you!

Staff is kind and friendly. But they are understaffed and by the looks on their faces underpaid. If the food line is backed up, please do not keep adding more to it. Two people working the line in theory should work but imagine it’s lunch time and one customer orders 10 bowls and 6 more people walk in. Now you’re backed up and the person on the tortilla side keeps adding to it. The food is now sitting there getting cold and customers are getting upset. Nothings wrong with the workers. Management needs to step it up.

As with all Chipotle locations, the food tastes good. Unfortunately there are issues with the service at this location. Last night my daughter and I walked in and there was no line. No one would take our order or even acknowledge us. At first I thought it was because they were preparing online orders. However it turned out that one of the workers was piling a plate of food for himself and making himself a special quesadilla, all while ignoring us. It’s funny because I was wondering how so much meat could be piled onto one plate. Finally a female worker came over and asked him what he was doing and he said he was fixing himself some food. She seemed really annoyed at this because he had been ignoring us the whole time, and now there was a long line behind us. I was also surprised to see that they had not been cleaning up the area and there was just food particles everywhere. I would like the manager to know that that girl was working very hard and trying her best to update the old food that was in the bins. It looks like there were a lot of people working, but people mostly just standing around not doing anything. She seemed to be the only one who kept working. Something else that is frustrating about this location is that they don’t accept the special coupons or bonuses that you get on the app. I would have to travel at least a 1/2 hour to get to another location to cash in on those freebies. I would eat her more often, but I just get turned off by experiences like this. Even my friends tell me horror stories of waiting two hours for food placed online.
