My recent visit to Chipotle, was a lonely experience since I was the only customer in the store. Granted, it was midafternoon but the large shopping center they are in was packed with cars. I have noticed that Chipolte’s stock price is down about 50% over the past two years, caused by lower sales and profits. I also note many negative reviews for Chipotle mentioning slow service, smaller portions, inconsistent food quality and complaints about price increases. Bad reviews will result in even lower sales so staff should be trained to express appreciation to every customer. The staff at Southbury were polite and competent but did not show much enthusiasm for their job or products.
In addition, Chipotle has introduced only minor new products and virtually no changes to their basic menu. Despite the issues mentioned, I still enjoy Chipolte’s food and I don’t think product quality has declined.
Higher menu prices are a big deal but there’s probably not much Chipotle can do about it since inflation has impacted food prices everywhere. In addition, Chipotle faces a lot of new competition in the fast food sector and a shift in consumer preferences. A lot of bad reviews in my opinion originate from consumers frustrated and squeezed in every direction by higher prices. Will I continue to visit Chipotle? Yes – I still enjoy Chipotle food, but their outlets need a bit more ambiance and friendlier staff.

Had a great experience at Chipotle! The chicken was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, and seasoned just right. Service was excellent too; the staff was friendly, quick, and made sure everything was fresh and exactly how we wanted it. The whole crew loved their meals, and everyone left full and happy. The restaurant was clean, well-stocked, and had a great vibe for a casual lunch with friends. Before heading out, we had to use the bathroom and it was spotless, which was a nice bonus. It’s the little things like that that make a difference. Always appreciate consistency and great service, and this location nailed it. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I’ve been going here since it opened. I just got it tonight for dinner. I remembered I never reviewed it. I got exactly what I asked for and I got a full burrito bowl. They don’t skimp; they give you what you pay for. The biggest plus is the chips are always fresh. Nothing worse than getting the chips and queso and the chips are stale. I think they are doing a great job!

Thank you to the Asian male worker who took the time to clean the counter tops at the serving stations (they were an absolute mess), even when the young male black employee asked him why he was doing it. This restaurant needs better onsite management because the employees have no sense of urgency or attention to cleanliness for their customers.
The management and staff should visit the Chipotle in Fairfield (340 Grasmere Ave). Now that’s a clean and efficiently ran restaurant. Not to mention they don’t skimp on their food portions, unlike this location.
Overall this place needs work. Please do better.

With a soda $17.77. Soda was warm because the ice machine was broken not a huge deal. But come on rice barely layered the bottom of the bowl, got about 6 pieces of steak. If your going to charge this much at least give the customer a fair amount of food.

So I wrote a review a couple years back about how disappointed I was with the portion control for the price you pay. But this time on 7/16/25 decided to give this place another chance. The order was an online order and whoever was tending to that station on that date around 4 pm should be a trainer on how to make a great bowl. All 3 were so well portioned we actually had left overs. Whoever was working that station you are amazing and you know how it’s done right thank you. The picture on the left was my first review and the picture on the right was from yesterday.

Place is dirty. Food not warm at all. The only thing warm is if you order Quesadilla . We ordered Smoked Brisket the meat is cold. And it was not as advertised. Brisket is chops in to small pieces. And my daughter ordered cheese quesadilla with side of chicken, beans and rice also cold. Plenty table are dirty. I never see the manager to tell please monitor tables for customer to seat and actually enjoy the meal.

Update…it happened again. Even though I keep saying I will never go back I wait months and my son talks me into it. Once again…he went in and grabbed his normal meal. Once again…the value is trash and the food might as well be…what there was of it. Please see the additional photos. So sad! My previous review of this location from months ago is below. Today is 8/24/23 and we are back again.
This is the second time I have received sub par food from this location. My son went and bought two bowls. He paid cash. See the attached photo for what we found when we got home and what Chipotle considers to be a $13 value. I wrote to their customer service and let them know. I asked for a partial refund as I received a partial meal. They said “Thank you for reaching back to us. I am really sorry for what happened during your visit, no worries if you were not given a receipt or a proof of purchase, you can input the following details so we can go ahead and look it for you. We want to make it right.

I filled this out and sent it back. I’m not sure why I bothered. This was the response: “Thank you for reaching back to us. Sorry for the inconvenience. Unfortunately we unable to pull up your order. Seriously….why ask at all? We will not go back to Chipotle. I have been there and received tremendous service and value and the opposite applies. There is no consistency. If customers are to pay $13 for a burrito or a bowl….it should be a good burrito or bowl.

This place is absolutley gross i watched a cook use his hands to grab food out of the cutting station (steak) not change his gloves and then continue to grab salad mix from the front station (Cross Contamination). As he was completing an order he grabbed cheese wearing the same gloves with his hands disregarding the customers watching him. When I called him out he snarkly remarked that he changed his gloves unbenounced the customers watching him. The Garbage is overflowing and dirty eating area. By far one of the worst Chipotles Ive been in. No Napkins, No Chips, No Agua Frescas and when asked if they had more they replied with “we dont have anymore tonight” what kind of mexican establishment does not have proper ingredients to serve their customers for dinner.

As shown in the pictures, this is a very nice location with a modern and sleek design. I love this Chipotle, the service is amazing! I can feel how friendly the work environment is, and I love coming here for a great meal. Being able to watch them make the food in the back is great, since it ensures that everything is made fresh. The staff are very welcoming, and one of my favorite employees (shown in the third picture) is Abby. She is always so welcoming with a “Welcome to Chipotle, what can I get started for you?”. She makes my order perfectly correct every time, and is always happy to help with any problems. Overall, this Chipotle has great service, and I enjoy getting food here from time to time!
