As kitchen is under construction, decided to order chicken chow mein and sweet and sour chicken. Paid $67 for burnt chow mein and mushy sweet and sour chicken. Absolutely disgusting. Threw it all in the trash. Unfortunately we did take out and I normally don’t like to leave bad reviews within the community. Called and talked to a girl didn’t care so I’m leaving it here. Please do better for your customers and your business.

We enjoyed our visit to the Chinese Dragon in Detroit Lakes. The decor and feel of the restaurant is very pleasant. I love that this restaurant is an order off the menu rather than the typical buffet style place.
Our server was prompt, friendly and happy to answer any of our questions.
The food was fresh and hot when it came out.
We ordered hot and sour soup, Mongolian Beef and chicken fried rice. The biggest issue we had with the food was flavor. The food, especially the meat, was fairly bland. The chicken in the fried rice was not cut properly there were a handful of large pieces of chicken rather than the chicken being cut into smaller pieces so it could be spread throughout the rice dish.
The Beef was also not seasoned very well.
The Hot and sour soup was also fairly bland.
On a good note the vegetables were cooked properly and were crisp and hot. Also the presentation of the meal was pleasant.
Overall it was a good experience we all just wished the Chinese Dragon would focus a little more on spices and flavor. I was able to compensate by adding lots of soy sauce!

I do not normally write reviews unless there’s an exceptional reason for doing so. And that’s the case with last Thursday’s meal at the Chinese Dragon. After a medical appointment that morning, we brought mom to the restaurant for her favorite kind of food. The server overheard us talking about mom’s 101st birthday party which was two days earlier. The next thing we know she brings two beautiful, fresh cut roses in a vase out to mom. Then mom receives a lovely Oriental fan from them. Then Mr. Wa, the owner, comes out and visits with mom for a very long time and made her feel very special. She adopted him on the spot. So not only did we have a great meal (I’ve never had otherwise at the Chinese Dragon), we saw owner and staff go out of their way to make an elderly woman they’d never met before feel very special. So it isn’t just good food they serve here, it’s something almost akin to love.

I would give them zero if I could! Food was tasteless, all 3 dishes including white rice and fried rice had absolutely no flavor. And the prices on line were all wrong, way more expensive when git there

The food was excellent. Combination dinners are reasonably priced around 12 to $15. The walls and detail areas could use a cleaning. Service was excellent. They’re fried rice was very good.

Lots of cool decor. They forewarned me that they were short on help, but no warning was needed. Very pleasant staff. Service was speedy. Food was good. I would definitely return.

Orange chicken was super soggy and tastes like it was cooked with fish. Prices are much higher than the menu they have on Google.

I have been going here since they first opened in the old Erie Jr. location. Quality has been going down hill every ten years or so. I went today and wont be going again. The egg rolls I loved were so sweet it was obvious there was way too much sugar and msg added and no meat. The fried rice had bean sprouts, which I dont like, never used to and was crunchy, under cooked and flavorless. kung pao chicken was not spicy. I asked for alot of heat a 5 if they still do 1-5. The celery is cut in big tough chunks. Not on an angle and thin to be tander, same with green peppers, just huge chunks. And the beautiful chicken breast they used to add generously, was chewy and tough and few and far between. No carrots but added bamboo shoots and water chestnuts. Prices were outrageous. 1 combination plate and one order of sweet and sour chicken was $45.00. I can make it better at home and convenience isnt worth the price.

So me and my man went here to eat and it was just us in there eating-I didn’t like my main dish, told her I don’t want a to go box for it and she brings my food back to the kitchen and all the staff were talking about how I should be on a diet. We will NEVER support this business ever again. Wow.
