My mother always raved about how delicious this place was, And being in the mood for Chinese food and with our normal place closed on Wednesdays My family and I decided to try here. We got boneless spare ribs and pork fried rice. The boneless spare ribs were okay, just okay. But the fried rice I was lucky to find at least maybe three pieces of pork. The rice was mushy it had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I’m sorry to say please just save your money and find someplace else.

We have ordered from here for 2 years and it has far gone down hill. I asked for egg in the pork fried rice (always have before and got charged more which wasn’t a problem) but I didn’t get any. Additionally, the rice was dry as if it’s been sitting for days. The egg rolls were greasy and inedible. The chicken & broccoli was spicy, which it’s NOT supposed to be and the wonton soup had NO flavor. Completely disappointed!! Have to find a new place now.

Food has changed tremendously. We haven’t ordered from there in a long time but we wanted to give them a try again. We ordered, picked up, and when we got home the rices were all wrong. After I called and told them they were wrong we returned the rice back (as they asked for it back…gross) and we supposedly got what we asked for..got home and they still messed up egg fried rice and white rice! Never spending a dime there again…they couldn’t get a simple order correct, twice!

This was absolutely the worst meal I’ve had it was so salty and just tasted like fast food frozen food man I am not one to leave bad comments but I promise this meal was worth the horrible horrible review. On the other hand, the food was hot and it was done in a timely manner, but I’m totally dissatisfied with the taste of the food. There was no effort Or any Care going into the $60 meal I will never be back again. That is for sure. The only place that is good in Port. Charlotte is the place of Kings Highway in veterans by tractor supply and stuff. Save your money and go there

Decided to stop by to order lunch, and was not disappointed. Good service, didn’t wait long for food. I ordered the lunch beef with mixed veggies, which came with your choice of fried rice or white rice and egg roll. I added an order of egg drop soup. Pretty tasty. Definitely recommend.

I ordered two lunches online through their website. First, I was charged a convenience fee for ordering online. Second, when I got back to work I noticed they hadn’t given me my egg rolls and drinks. My wife had to drive all the way back to get them. The clerk told my wife lunches do not come with egg roll. Their menu states lunches come with rice and egg roll. Instead of taking responsibility they tried to cheat us.

I’ve been a customer of China Wok for over 20 years and although I now live in Sarasota I would still order food from China Wok…until today. The quality of the food is not them same. I would compare this food to that you would get in the food court at the Port Charlotte Towncenter for half the price. I am very disappointed to see this once great restaurant offer such low quality food on their menu. The people of Port Charlotte deserve better. As for me China Wok lost a 20+ year customer.

I’m so sad because this used to be my favorite Chinese food place, but something has changed with the food and it is not for the better. We order from China Wok a few times a month and the last couple of orders were disappointing at best. I loved the fried rice before, but they have started adding yellow curry to it and it is completely different than it used to be. The last time we ordered it was so over seasoned with curry that it was gritty and inedible and we threw out most of the carton. My husband used to love their Mongolian Beef but it has also changed. He said the seasoning was just really off from what it used to be, and there was a grainy texture to the sauce and meat from too much dry seasoning powder being added. We’ve noticed unappealing changes to other dishes as well and the overall quality of the ingredients also seems to have gone down. I don’t know if this is due to a change in ownership, management, kitchen staff, or something else, but we won’t be back. I’m super bummed to be writing this and I wish they would change the food back!!!
