Brought my family of 8 here while passing through town. We got 3 meat dishes, 1 fried rice, 1 veggie lomein, 2 hot&sour soups, and 2 orders of crab rangoon. It fed my family plus a container of leftovers (enough for an adult lunch) all for less than $100.
The food was fresh, hot, and had superb flavors, and the staff was friendly, even offering to go out of their way to make the orange chicken non-spicy for the kids.
We will for sure be going back if ever passing through again.

I love China wok, it’s affordable, quick, and delicious. Llano doesn’t have many restaurants that I’d recommend like this one. China Wok is a hidden gem.

Me and my family went for our Christmas dinner this year and it was amazing. We have been trying to find a good Chinese place close by for a while. The food was amazing, I definitely recommend their General Tao’s Chicken, they say it’s spicy but it’s not. It’s very good, so are the dumplings and crab ragoons! We will 100% be coming back when we get a chance. The ladies were very nice and made sure we were good the entire time, kept making sure everything was good. It was a little empty so we were a bit worried it wasn’t good but everyone seemed to be ordering to go. If you’re looking for some good Chinese food definitely check them out, well worth going especially with the price. Really cheap and you get a lot of food. We spent around 50 for three people but that was with appetizers.

Everyone in our family loves to eat here. Every time we go through Llano we eat here. If we are 2 hours away at lunch time they want to wait till we get here to eat. My father actually plans his 5 hour drive around what time he can get to Llano so he can eat here. Michael is so friendly and can order for my mom and son because they are going to get the same thing every time. Egg foo young for mom and dumplings and shrimp fried rice for my son. My son loves the food so much when he was younger he found a rent house a block away and told us he was going to move there just so he could go eat at “Michael’s” aka China Wok. I am a huge fan of the special combination plate with sesame chicken. It is my go to. The old building doesn’t look like much when you walk in, but don’t let it fool you. The food is great and they are very friendly. Food is served in to go containers because even my 23 year old 280 pound son can’t finish it all.
If you like Chinese food you have to try China Wok.

Awesome food. Very friendly male owner. Food was fresh and hot with great taste. Crab ragoon was in 8 pieces and very tasty. Fried rice even had meat mixed in. We were expecting to be waited on but they serve in nice plastic reusable microwavable bowls to bring left overs home in. It would have been better to be waited on but awesome food and very nice owners.

I am always delighted to find great Asian food in small towns. China Wok is one of these places. It is a little different than a Big City Oriental Restaurant, so be prepared when you walk in. You have to walk up to the order counter, pick up a menu and step back to decide what you want to order. The staff was patient with me as I figured this out. You place your order, pay for your food and drink, then you get a disposable plate, cup and dinner ware and/or chopsticks and choose a seat at one of the plentiful tables. Then your hot, prepared food is delivered to your table in stout takeout containers. Then you proceed to serve up what you want, enjoy the delectable delights and what is left over is already in takeout containers. The bulk of the business is call-in and carry out orders, but they accommodate walk-up and dine-in guests graciously, but don’t expect a Maitre d’ to greet you and have a waitperson at your beck and call. But if you are used to self service and a laid back atmosphere, the food alone warrants a visit, dine-in or carry-out.

Now, on to the food my wife and I dined on Egg Drop Soup, Wonton Soup, Egg Rolls, Vegetable Delight and Fried Rice. That was plenty for us both with some leftovers to take home. The food was excellent and if I make it through Llano, TX again, I will definitely dine there again! The staff was gracious for our patronage and quickly oriented me on their different style of service, which I quickly adapted to. So for their quirkiness mixed with their patience, graciousness and excellent food with quick service, they earned my 5 star rating.

This has to be one of the best Chinese food places I’ve tried in the last few years. You order your food at the window and they bring it out to your table in to go style plates of which I was a bit skeptical. The portions were huge, so it made taking the left overs home a breeze. Best pepper steak, lo mein, Mongolian beef and egg rolls I’ve had in quite a while! Was definitely worth stopping for!

We came here on Thanksgiving evening honestly because it was the only place open, but we were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was and how nice the staff were. I had the kung pao shrimp and my significant other had the beef with broccoli. Mine was a little better than hers was (in both our opinions), but both were very good. I’m picky on my Chinese food, but I would definitely come back.

Update: Exactly one year later (now 2025), we returned for the exact same trip. This time I had the Kung pow shrimp again and my wife had the moo gai pan. We also had the crab puffs and egg rolls. The people here are so nice, the service is extremely fast, and the food is really good. It’s going to be our annual tradition for as long as we’re able.

Great vegetarian options. Nice authentic people. They keep the place clean. Good to have something different. Huge space. Dim lights are a throw back to the old stone building.
