After grocery shopping, we decided to get some Chinese for supper. Saw the China Wok sign and decided to give it a try.
This place obviously is more of a take-out place, with limited seating. A few booths is about all you get.
It didn’t take long at all to get our order taken. We both ordered the sweet & sour chicken combo with fried rice. The chicken was good and the sauce was excellent. The rice was a bit overcooked. Slight burnt taste.
The employee at the counter was very nice and engaging to all who ordered during our visit. Very welcoming.
Definitely a take-out place with good food.

The level of food quality and service has deteriorated over the years. The food tastes like I can cook it better in my own kitchen. As for the service; on February 3, 2026, I placed an order and I believe it was the African American cashier taking the phone order, she proceeds to yawn in my ear while I’m explaining what I would like and when I finally pick up the food and bring it home everything is wrong. You have the audacity to yawn in my ear but still take the order wrong? I don’t bother returning it, because it will only be wasted time and resources for something that should have been right to begin with. Unfortunately this isn’t the first time receiving an incorrect order, so just go somewhere else to eat.

I decided to try China Wok (Cottonwood Corners) after talking to a woman outside the restaurant who told me it was better than the China Wok on the other side of Dothan near Flowers Hospital—the one I usually go to. I was excited to try something new. Big mistake. I should’ve known better than to try a new place while I was starving.
I ordered the house special fried rice (chicken, shrimp, beef, and pork), bone-in honey wings, and cream cheese wontons. I almost skipped the wontons because the other China Wok’s wontons are usually not fresh—but surprisingly, these were extremely fresh and the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, everything else was a big disappointment. None of the food was hot—barely even warm. I placed the order while driving there, got there in under 10 minutes, paid, and still had to wait for the food, so I don’t understand why it wasn’t hot at all. The biggest issue was the shrimp. They were not deveined, which is honestly disgusting. On top of that, the shrimp tasted slightly undercooked, so the texture was already off-putting. Seeing the veins after biting into shrimp that felt almost raw made me completely lose my appetite. This location doesn’t come close to the China Wok on W Main St, which I’ve had much better experiences with. I hate wasting food and money, but this was $28 straight into the trash, because I won’t be finishing it—and I won’t be returning to this location.

Been dining with Chinawok for a few years now and they have become one of my favorite spots. Staff and management are very helpful and friendly, and always go above and beyond to make sure your experience is a good one. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service. Clean dining area and bathrooms. My grandmother’s favorite meal is the Egg Foo Young though it isn’t available at all times it is always good. Food is always fresh and flavorful. Wait time is good as long as they aren’t super busy. Atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming. A good spot for lunch with the family or even a date. They have a variety of dishes and will even accommodate vegan or weight loss diets. They don’t mess up our orders often but if they do they are quick to make it right, offering a refund or remake depending on the circumstances. The only thing I would recommend is more drink options. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. We will be back soon!

If I could curse I would, I ordered a bourbon chicken and it didn’t even taste right and it was very salty. The meat tasted like it wasn’t freshly made. Also ordered a hot and sour soup and this thing is just straight up bland. Total for lunch was $14 bucks what I rip off.

My customer exercise experience was Great.My food was ready in a timely manner But my chicken and broccoli was tasteless.My Vegetable Fried Rice was missing. My vegetables and my egg roll tasted old And I did not finish any of the food. My stomach hurt terribly later in the after consuming, not even half.
