Placed the order online and arrived about five minutes after the scheduled pickup time, but still had to wait over 30 minutes for the to-go order. The food wasn’t any different from any other Chinese takeout spot.
If you’re looking for something nearby, Taste of China on Dale Mabry is much faster and more efficient. They also didn’t even include a fortune cookie with the order.
Overall, a disappointing experience.

Yesterday was the last time that I gave this restaurant my money. The food is horrible, subpar to say the least I ordered sweet-and-sour chicken, crab Rangoon, egg roll and egg drop soup.the only thing edible was the sweet and sour chicken.

Good dumplings and great fried rice! Avoid the chow mein—it was disappointing, just chicken and cabbage. The hot and sour soup lacked heat and flavor. The orange chicken was okay, better than the chow mein, but nothing remarkable.

China Wok on MacDill Ave! So happy to be back to Tampa and after 12 years, food still as good as can be. These are my favorite dishes and it’s just not the same like other places because China Wok makes them so traditional. Support local. Make this one your go-to spot! #chinese take-out

Pretty good Chinese food. Beef with mixed vegetable and vegetable lo mein came with a lot of veggies and was tasty. The egg Roll was pretty standard as was the soup. A little bit on the pricey side, but the portions are big enough to warrant the extra money and the food is good.

I visited there because of the great reviews and I’m very pleased. I had the Szechuan Beef Combination and loved it. It was just spicy enough and very tasty. The portion looked small but there’s quite a bit of food packed into those small packages. I used to go to Wok and Roll on Kennedy but it closed so I’m glad I found a Chinese takeout place I like even better. I highly recommend China Wok in South Tampa

We’ve been frequent customers of this restaurant for a long time, both dining in and ordering takeout, and have never had an experience like this — unfortunately, it will be our last.
The food we picked up was shockingly bad. The chicken had a grainy, slimy texture, clearly not held at a safe temperature. The beef was even worse — it had an odd, rubbery consistency with a layer of fat congealed on top, like it had been stored improperly. The rice was undercooked and crunchy, and the noodles were completely flavorless. Everything was inedible.
When we called to share our concerns, the owner was shockingly rude and combative. She refused to issue a refund and instead told us we just have “bad taste.” I explained that we’ve had this exact dish many times before and know what it’s supposed to taste like — this was clearly not it. She dismissed that and said no one has ever complained before, and then accused me of being a thief trying to trick her.
We were told to drive 20 minutes back to return the spoiled food, just so they could have the kitchen staff taste it themselves to “prove” it wasn’t bad — a practice that’s not only unprofessional, but a major food safety violation.
This whole experience left us not just disappointed, but seriously concerned about the kitchen’s cleanliness and handling practices — and even more disturbed by how poorly we were treated. After being loyal customers for years, this was the final straw. We will absolutely not be returning.
