First this has to be said this resturant has the heaviest front door ever. It feels like your really going into a grand event. I love the decor it’s very nice. The food is excellent but don’t come here if you want spicy. Very mild. The lunch menu has alot to offer and the regular menu is large as well. Fantastic egg drop soup. Thick. The staff are all very good and so are the prices.

Our waitress was great. She was very friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was out fast, and it tasted amazing.

It was like a ghost town there because we went sort of between lunch and dinner.

I really don’t like giving bad reviews. But this was the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life. I ordered the Mongolian Beef and there was barely and seasoning. It tasted like what I can only imagine dog food would taste like. As for the service our waitress was great checking on us frequently. Not her fault the food was disgusting. And as for the atmosphere the taste of the food explains what there was not anyone else there. Sorry China Star you would have got a worse review if your waitress wasn’t so nice.

As with any buffet. Timing is everything. 20 mn can make or break it. I’ve been on both ends. However overall I’d say it’s a worthy spend. Good food good selection. Albeit non changing. But still. Not too shabby

Decent price food was tasty but heavy on the celery egg roll had unusual spice I didn’t care for.

The wait staff was absolutely wonderful and so kind, but the food…. well first of all I have been to other china stars and was very confused when this wasn’t a buffet (as was the table next to us) and I ordered chicken chow mein. Every single restaurant i have ever been to serves chow mein with NOODLES. This was werved with a bunch of veggies, the thinnest bits of chichen ever, and then…. the salad topping type crunchy chow mein at the bottom of everything? What on earth. So I ordered a ‘small side of plain lo mein to add to my food’ and they proceeded to give me the most comically large portion of food ive ever recieved. Which would have been fine if a bit silly if the food was GOOD. Extremely thin, dry noodles with a strange almost saurkraut-like taste. Awful. Maybe it would have helped if there was literally any pictures of any of the food on the menu- its just words so you have no idea what to expect. I probably won’t be coming back. For fun here is the enormous pile of noodles I was given.

I will say th the Hunan Beef platter was good, although heavy on the celery as others have stated. The overall taste however was good. The spicy hot pepper sauce was definitely fire…awesome. The service, on the flip, was horrible. No, ” is everything OK?”, “Would you like anything else?” I don’t know maybe dessert, or “Can I get you a TOGO box?” NOTHING! When I say nothing, I do mean nothing. One napkin to use the entire meal and appetizer. No prebussing. Come by your table for ANYTHING; I don’t think so? When I asked for a togo cup for my drink it was, “We don’t do those.” When it says, “Family Restaurant, they are only referring to themselves”. It is abundantly apparent that the older lady in the front, running the register, does not care about the grievances of the clientele. Despite the unsettling disconcern for the needs of the patrons, I do not hold the waitress entirely responsible. She was the only waitress on the floor. She was seemed “green” and unable to multi-task. Again, not her fault. Management should know her limits and help or hire another waitress. This is just another way of demonstrating their concern for themselves. While expressing my concerns to the older lady at the front, it was apparent that she felt I was a nuisance; the waitress however, seemed to be sincerely apologetic, even saddened by my experience.

I discovered this place after my wife’s flight into Duluth was delayed several hours.
