Wow , how i wish you are in Danvers area. I ordered food here twice when we stayed in Amesbury last year . food was amazing, this is the total gem if you like Chinese food. i will recommend this restaurant. we will drive soon and order some good food.

So last night , I am new to Amesbury and i was looking for a Chinese restaurant to go eat at and I found China star and I read the reviews and I wanted to try them and judge for myself how they were so I ordered the house special soup with dumplings added and I ordered house special fried rice and honestly, I have to say both dishes were absolutely delicious. No complaints whatsoever. They would’ve gotten five stars however when I picked up my order my complementary duck sauce was not in my bag and whenever you order rice, a restaurant should have given you some duck sauce to go with it and I’m not talking about the stuff in the little cellophane package I’m talking the real stuff made with applesauce that should’ve been in my package and it was not so that’s why they’re getting four stars, but the food itself was very good and I will order from there again

Does the NEW China Star mean new owners, new menu…? I had been a huge fan of the “old” China Star. Not a big fan of the new. I bought 3 staple items, wings, lo mein and crab rangoon.

We usually order here all the time for chinese for my whole family.
They apparently changed the curry powder for the Singapore noodles and it completely sucks now. Theres no flavor, and no spice. But the chef insists he used curry powder. When its properly made, the noodles are very yellow with lots of spice specs. Last time i got them here, they had lots of heat.
My family was already sitting and eating when i realized my noodles were wrong after picking up our order and bringing it home.
They wanted me to pack up ( which includes having to bring my baby) the food and bring it back to have it remade, or for them to give me a refund. I wasnt going to stop sitting with everyone else who was already eating to pack up and go back for my money back or for a remake.
Usually we love the food here. Was super disappointed tonight.

This used to be my favorite place for Chinese food. Last night I threw 17 dollars in the trash. I gave the food a 1 star but it was definitely a no star. So disappointed . Definitely won’t be back!

I used to go to this place all the time. They recently changed their recipes, it tastes completely different and I was very disappointed. It seems a lot lower quality as well and sadly I won’t be returning. RIP to one of my favorite spots.
