China Palace closed and this new Mexican place opened in its spot but kept the full Chinese menu, added sushi, and has a whole new Mexican menu. This place doesn’t seem to know what it is. I wish the new owners luck but you can’t try to be a Chinese, Mexican, and Sushi restaurant while being exceptional at any one of them. There’s just no way they can prepare every dish on the menu(s) while always having fresh ingredients on-hand, so this gives me great pause about coming back. The server was very friendly and kind, but she had no clue about the menu (even the new Mexican one). She couldn’t tell me if their Fajitas came with tortillas. Um… what? They also haven’t changed the decor much, if at all. The food presentation was good, but taste and quality was definitely sub-par. I wanted to like this place but was disappointed. We’ll give them another shot in a few months to see if they get the kinks ironed out.

This is by far one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. The food: superb, customer service: excellent, ambiance: peaceful and they have daily specials, even on the weekends. I highly recommend this place!

Our family wanted to try this place out so we came in on a weekday evening. The place was basically empty besides two other tables.
The server was super friendly and positive. That’s probably the best part about our experience.
The food was decent and in large portions. The decor and ambiance were really nice. I probably won’t be going back but it was nice trying it.

Best Chinese food in town, had a wonderful experience with my friends. Super friendly, great service and the food was amazing. Definitely come down and try it out!
Another trip here, and another satisfying experience. Even with memorial day weekend traffic and crowds, we sat right away and had food within 15 mins. So good will be back yet again.

Had a hard time deciding on this. Food is tasty and service was good. The portions and pricing don’t match up. I almost gave it a 3 star. The food can be less expensive for the amount of food you get. I like the selections on the menu but overall it could be better. Not much else to compare to in the area for something similar.

China Palace is by far the best tasting chinese food in Morgan Hill. Its been long standing restaurant for decades and run by the nicest couple that are such hard workers. The menu is extensive with so many great options to choose from. They have a full bar and great wines. The do a lot of take-out business as well so call in early because they are popular and can get backed up with orders – but well worth the wait!

Chinese fare in a nice setting. Fast service but can get slow when crowded. Prices are excellent (under $10 as of 03-2018) for lunch with lunch specials. Large amount of food. Lunches come with soup, friend veggie roll, chow mien and the choice of meat. Also have regular Asian dishes. A great place for lunch on a budget.

Great veggie fried rice. Veggie egg foo young very tasty although dark gravy overwhelms flavor of main dish so ask for less. Spicy garlic green beans flavor ok–should be less floppy more firm. Try egg drop soup to start–delicious. Will return soon.

I want to start by saying that I have been going to China Palace for close to 35 years. It was my favorite restaurant as a kid. My go-to. But not anymore.
My husband and I came here for lunch on Saturday at 1pm the restaurant was empty should have been our first clue. We haven’t eaten here for approximately 9 year, we moved out of the area for a while. The last time was right around the time they moved to this location, and it was good at that time. However, our experience was disappointing, to say the less. We got the lunch specials. I got the tofu vegetables, and he got the sweet and sour pork as our mains. When the food came out, the first thing I did was break my egg role in half and start to take a bite.
It was cold in the middle, and there was a strong oder of rotten cabbage – a very distinctive smell. We told the waitresses she looked at us. and then said…. (OK, I will tell the cook) and then walked away…. our expectations after working in the restaurant industry for many years. Was for them to replace them with fresh ones, but they didn’t even take them away. The rest of the food was also not the best, overlay salty. The noodles were overcooked. Just poor quality. I ate like 1/3 of my food . When it was time to pay, my husband asked if we could get a couple of dollars off for the egg roles, and the waitress just plain said no. Fine whatever shitty food and services . But the best part is my husband and I both have food poisoning like symptoms. Yeah. Very memorable experience!!!! Never again!!

Got the lunch combo, wife got egg flower soup. Wife devour the soup, she loved it. I got orange chicken and fried rice combo. The orange chicken is very meaty, not sweet and very savory with strong citrus flavor. The rice is steamed, texture was very soft. The chow main wasn’t greasy and the veggie egg roll wasn’t oily. Really great Chinese food, this place needs more business! 5/5
