First off, this place is in a pretty empty shopping center. If you put it in the gps, it’ll be pretty easy to get there. I walked in and it was pretty quiet, but very clean. I got the Mongolian beef lunch plate and it was superb!! The meat was tender and the fried rice was definitely some of the best that I’ve ever had. That’s a compliment because a lot of these places fried rice is horrible!! The lunch prices are some of the best in the area including a drink. I’ll definitely make this a regular spot!

I have never written a review before but I feel so strongly about how good this food is I had stop mid-meal to give them their flowers. Chinese food is my go-to, eat it at least once a week. I’ve tried so many different restaurants and this is hands down the best. Everything I’ve had from here is outrageously good. They’re always so nice as well. China Kitchen, I love you.

Dog food comes to mind. Used to be mediocre and affordable. Now the food is barely edible and unbelievably expensive. Two po po platters: chicken on a stick was unchewable, shrimp toast was burned. The dishes were lackluster and the pork was dried and gross. Rice was meh.

Two dishes and two po po platters was almost $60. That’s just insanity wrapped up as ‘food’ unfit for a dog.

I could go on but you get the point. But I will ‘go on’ to a different restaurant with much better quality, worthy of its price.

This place has lost their freaking minds.

You know it’s good when they write the ticket in Chinese. The general Tsao’s is actually spicy if only mildly instead of the sweet dish you get at a lot of local places. The Singapore Mei fun is to die for!. They also have sweet and sour pork! Lots of places have the chicken but no the pork. Food was so we’ll packaged for delivery. This is the second time we have ordered and they are a new favorite in our house. Best American food on Waitr!

Only my second time here. Remembered the first time being very good and I thoroughly enjoyed the egg roll. Had a taste for the egg roll today but I guess I didn’t read the fine print when I got home there was no egg roll in my lunch special. I also ordered Mongolian Beef but plate looked more like Pepper Steak. Tastes good though. I just have to get used to properly ordering.

Great to go Chinese. Best I’ve found in Baton Rouge so far. The lunch and dinner meals are the way to go.

Pick up times vary on when it’ll actually be ready however even if it’s taken longer your food is still always fresh.

I’d rather wait a few extra minutes for fresh food than to be waiting on my food getting cold for no reason!

As far as quality I’ve never had a complaint in the 10 or so years we’ve patronized this restaurant.

As usual food is great…but all menus listed online is about 60% of the real price you have to pay. The owners have taken advertised inflation a tad far. There are other Chinese take-out places nearby who has pretty good food but has not gone wild with their prices.
I believe I will find other places until China Kitchen re-examines their pricing. One dish I get there often has gone from $5.99 per serving to $9.95 and the primary ingredient has actually been going down in pricing over the last 7 months.
This is sad for a place that was known for good Chinese at fair pricing.
By the way, I came there at about 5:30pm on a Saturday which is usually packed. I saw no one there and since my order was not quite ready yet, I heard no calls indicating ordering ….maybe their pricing needs to be re-examined.
I will try again there in 6 months. Which means that the owners will be losing about
35 orders from me at about, current pricing, $26 per order, or a little over $900.

I usually only review good/great food experiences, which until lately China Kitchen has been. I only hope in 6 months they are still open so I can resume eating where I really like to. I am really sorry to have to do this kind of review.
