Always quick with a regular, friendly, food is good and perfect for a Chinese craving when you have the munchies or you are really hungry! Not bad in any way. They have soft serve ice cream too and it’s really good. Egg rolls, shrimp, lo mein all great choices. About 12 to 14 bucks a person. Kids are like 10 bucks so not bad at all for a lunch or dinner.

Because I have eaten thousands of Chinese buffet, I can honestly say this is among the worst ones. It is nearly as bad as the one in Traverse City. Well it’s a tourist city so everything is more expensive. Lunch price is unbelievable $13.77 before tips. So prepare to pay $16/person for junk food. If you come to southern Michigan where there are at east 3-4 Chinese buffet in one city, with competition you can have decent Chinese buffet for $9-10 that have a lot more varieties including beef and sushi. Their $16 buffet has very limited food and does not even have beef and sushi.

My mother and I stopped there to eat during the late brunch, early lunch hours. We got seated and our drinks quickly… The food was delicious and they were awesome at keeping fresh food on the buffet tables/steam tables… The service was good. As I said before we were seated and got our drinks quickly. They were also quick to take our plates when we were finished. I didn’t like how the servers seemed to either not want to be there or seemed to want everyone to get in and go. I thought that was kind of rude but the rest of the service was good enough to not pay that part as much mind… Again, the servers were quick at their job but didn’t seem very friendly. Also, the bathroom was very cold and could have used a bit of a cleaning. All in all, I’d say that the China King Buffet has Great food and the service is decent enough that I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends, family and anyone else who is in the Petoskey Michigan area.

I’d consider giving them a 2 star. But its a very generous thought. It was the worst Chinese buffet I’ve been too. We were watched, rushed out the door and the server was more concerned about the tip she got than letting me out of the booth I was sitting in.

The food was great it was fresh and warm the staff was polite they could use some new window blinds. it was as good as any place I’ve had Chinese including Japan, Thailand, Guam and any place in the States

Great service and always super friendly. Love that it’s all you can eat! Good location. Their actual food isn’t superb, but it’s not bad. Love their little donut thingies! I go just for those sometimes!

Me and my family went here 2 times and both resulted in food poisoning. Throwing up and diarrhea for my kids and husband. Thought the first time was a fluke, tried again 6 months later and got sick again. No coincidence. I am not one to write negative reviews but I’m trying to look out for other families out there.
