On Christmas Day, our experience at China King in Des Peres was so so disappointing. We waited over an hour for our food, with no updates or communication about the delay. At the front, a young girl and a very young boy appeared stressed, and the girl was scolding the boy, which made the atmosphere so uncomfortable. To make things worse, the owner was shouting at customers to form a single file line but didn’t provide any information about order status. When I asked about my receipt, they didn’t even have my order printed after 30 minutes. I only stayed because I was entertained and already paid… (they wouldn’t give a refund). Overall, the lack of communication and the tense environment made for a very frustrating visit. Food was just okay and not worth the hassle

I’ve been ordering from this restaurant for many years. The food and service has always been great until approx 4 months ago when new ownership came in.
I understand being new and having a few hiccups but the food and service is getting increasingly worse.
First of all the women who works behind the counter and sometimes delivers is extremely off putting.
-Order contact less delivery”When she delivered my food my dog was barking and i was holding him when i answered the the door(he was not going towards her)and she started sceaming and flailing her arms all over and trying to pull my door closed saying “i dont like dogs”
-a couple weeks later i tryed to order “contact less delivery” offered on website and the girl came and banged on the door until I had to get out of the shower to open the door(i had also noted” leave on front porch”) w/this order i had noticed a significant $ increase
-about 2 weeks ago I got carry out(trying to avoid delivery) I order a variety of things but i always get an order of chicken wings,plain fried wings. you used to get 5 full wings for $9. The last order i got barely looked like chicken. They have clearly stared buying “broken” wings which are about $18 for 10lbs and trying to pass off this garbage as food. Btw, they now charge $12 for the garbage broken chicken wings. Plus I ordered “no carrots” in the broccoli chicken, not only did it have carrots,but the broccoli and chicken were definitely not fresh.
It’s also worth noting that the odd lady that had a fit about my dog was working behind the counter when i came in and i wanted 4 cans of coke,that i can clearly see in the glass door fridge. She says “no you want 4 fountains” I said i absolutely do not want to take out 4 fountain drinks, i want the cans. She argued w me for a few minutes before getting me the cans of soda.
This place has been turned into a dump with a lunatic at the front of the business.
Sucks they were my favorite for many years.

This used to be my favorite Chinese food restaurant, hands down. I loved all the food, the service (including their own delivery driver), and affordability. Like most places, prices have now increased, but the quality has also decreased. It seems they probably have new recipes and/or suppliers. The Crab Rangoon (formerly my absolute favorite) now has a generic, overly sweet-fake flavor. The Kung Pao Chicken is an overly breaded shell of it’s former self. And to top it off, even if you order for delivery directly from the website they now outsource to door dash and charge exorbitant fees. Sadly, I will be on the search for a new favorite Chinese food restaurant. China King, I will miss you.

Tried this location for lunch via Door Dash because of how well liked other China King locations are. Three positives: 1) super fast! 2) The order came in a super cute reusable bag, and 3) the crab ragoon was delicious. Everyone got different things, and no one was happy. The chicken didn’t feel or taste like chicken. Almost everything had a fishy taste. Egg rolls were burnt. Oh, and we did get fortune cookies that were good, not that those are made in-house. Overall, pretty disappointed especially compared to other China King locations. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t order again.

Well they did it again. Carry out. 4 meals are not hot, not even warm. We ordered egg rolls, and crab racoon, we didnt receive the egg rolls but got one egg roll extra.
We will give them one more try. I rather eat at Wan Fu’s.

Sigh. This place was fantastic once upon a time, but not anymore. Third time they’ve had children take the order and it is wrong when we pick it up. First time, they included seafood in the entree. This time, looks as if they didn’t bother to chop the vegetables and included a half an onion. They’ve also switched egg rolls to bite size pieces (no doubt frozen). When you bring the incorrect orders to their attention, they’re annoyed and claim they’ll make a complimentary dish next time.
I want to assume it’s a scale issue, because they’re much busier now with online orders – but I can’t get over the now unfriendly service and getting all the way home to find they’ve given me something completely different than I ordered.

Pretty sad when you make an order on Door Dash. Get charged $47, then when the food gets here, we’re missing items, and on the ticket attached to the bag it says you charged us $29. So why did I get charged 47. Then when we say add an egg to the fried rice, you don’t even mix the egg like a normal place? You’ve mixed the egg before. Why not now. Won’t order from this location again.

This restaurant delivered menus to my job 1 day ago. My coworkers and I ordered today and used one of their coupons. When I got to the restaurant, they told me that the menu prices were wrong and showed a screenshot on a phone. If the prices are incorrect, why are you going to random businesses to deliver menus??? Then, when paying, they told me I can’t use the coupon if I’m paying with card. Other than the false advertising and service, the food is subpar, the rice is flavorless and somewhat hard, the chicken is okay, the soup is bland and not good. I only ordered the soup to reach the minimum for the coupon, but with the prices being wrong, it didn’t even matter.
