This restaurant is amazing! What a great find in Lafayette! I keep coming back. I have been coming for years! This restaurant is my Friday night treat. I look forward to dining here throughout my work week. Dining in is a great experience, although it has been colder here recently, the restaurant was very warm and comfortable, and the food comes out fresh and HOT! The employees are very kind and know exactly how to answer any questions I may have. When I am dining in, I always feel welcomed and never rushed. My favorite thing to order is the pork fried rice and a side of crab rangoon; these two things are always warm and have the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavor.

this is my go to chinese restaurant. i’ve been coming to this place since they opened. usually i come 3 times a week and i get my usual of general chicken combo , crab rangoon , and some shrimp eggrolls. they’ve never let me down yet, everytime the food been delicious.
the lady at the counter always know what i want when i come in. and i’ve seen the kids grow up too from doing hw on the side tables to college now.
great atmosphere, great food, and great people.

Oh, my. I really liked this place when it first opened years ago, but it’s really went downhill over the years. The quality of the food has decreased tremendously, and the staff is not very nice. Go to pick up a carryout order and they basically throw it at you and want to get back to chatting among themselves, watching TV and act like you’ve disrupted their lives. When I first frequented this place they were so friendly and the food was much, much better. It’s like they’ve given up and don’t care about quality or customer service. Do yourself a favor and skip this one…there are definitely better choices in town. Happy China on the Levee is exponitially better and a little bit less expensive. After reading another review (see below) accompanied by an unsettling photo of a cockroach, I won’t be going back. Yuck.

I was wanting dragon and Phoenix so we saw they had it on their menu. We went to try it out we specifically asked for our appetizers to come before entrees but they came after. My wife’s seafood combination was very good with lots of seafood and vegetables. I was very disappointed with my dish as I had to hunt for the shrimp inside a combo of onions and peppers. I went to the cashier and expressed my disappointment and pointed to the picture on the wall which showed lots of shrimp. She said she would have to cook make more shrimp and I added it to my dish and it was much better. Not sure we will return and keep going to our favorites. The place is a little dated and could use a refresh. You can see in the pictures before and after of more shrimp.

This place is one of our favorite Chinese places in town. The egg fu young gravy is the best, the general tzos chicken is so good, and the crab rangoons are delightful! It’s a small place, but good food.

Food was low quality. Cold .. no heat. Kept my coat and hat on through the whole meal. Server asked us if we were finished while I was still eating. What is really annoying is management waiting for a tip at the payment counter. Disgusting behaviour, low rate service.and bad food.

I called and ordered pork lo mein. The lady that answered was very nice. I was quoted 10 mins and when I got there it was ready. The lady that was there was very nice. The pork lo mein is a solid 4. It was nice and hot. A little over 11$ for a large order. Im not sure if this was their best version, or a busy friday night version but I would order again.

Gross. Just don’t go. Happy China is right across the river from downtown Lafayette in a plaza on the left. Just go to Happy China.

ordered chicken noodle soup, chicken chop suey and crab meat egg foo yong.
1. Chicken Chop suey is horrible. The corn inside taste sour, gone bad.
2. Chicken noodle soup is bland
3. Crab meat foo yong has too much onions and is greasy, but the most palatable out of all 3.
