We arrived mid-afternoon on a Sunday. At most Chinese buffets, Sundays are their big day. This place was mostly empty. Well, I see why. For most of the offerings, the pans were mostly empty. The ‘fried rice’ was all dried up. The chicken skewers were hard a dry because they had been sitting all day, the wonton soup had only two wontons that looked unappealing. The other dishes looked as bad. I should have looked first and left, but we had already been seated. During service, our plates were only removed once and drinks were not attended to. The price for two of us with tip was about $35. This place needs to do much better. Customers deserve better. I think the manager (owner) needs to be more attentive to the food and less attentive to his cell phone behind the counter.

Quick, and as expected. Came in (first time ever) within an hour of closing on a weeknight and the buffet was fully stocked. Will certainly return for the value.

Not overly busy during lunch. Great place to meet friends and family to eat and talk. Buffet food was always hot and tasted good.

I’m very disappointed in this place. A lot of the food was cold and it made me feel sick. I picked at my plate and couldn’t eat anymore. I still paid but I regret coming here. Save your $16 meal+drink per person and go get some chipotle or a real Chinese restaurant.

If you like chinese food, do not eat here. Everything was bland or gross or somehow both. Who makes lo main with nothing in it? Even the packaged foods was bad; the almond cookie were stale. The ice cream was a dairy product cup like you get in the hospital but cheaper and melted into foam. I was desperate to find something edable, so I tried a bit of everything. It was all bad. I have never left so much food uneaten, spit out so many items, or felt like I wasted my money. Now we get to go back to the hotel sick to our stomachs and completely unsatisfied. DO NOT EAT HERE!

This place is truly a wonderland. I wouldn’t change a thing about it. I always make sure to stop by when I am back in the Dayton area. Many things change in that plaza — Kmart to Kroger to all sorts of new construction — but the glory of China Garden Buffet has stood through it all. I actually plan to name my first born child “China Garden Buffet” and have a lawyer already retained in case the county clerk tries to stop me.

My family and I have been going to China Garden for many years and it’s consistently our top choice. My momma passed away about a week and half ago, It was her favorite place, their peanut butter chicken and corn souffle-type dish was her favorite items. After she passed, I came into the restaurant and asked if we could get catering for after her funeral. They were so kind and did such an amazing job. They had the food fresh, hot and perfectly on time. I was absolutely so impressed with the service (as always) but extra with how kind and how delicious everything was. It took one important thing off our minds to deal with and I am so incredibly grateful. I just am so impressed with them even more now. I would like to express my family’s gratitude as much as we can. Thank you.
