my husband and i have eaten here many times but this time we placed an order for delivery and when we received our food we were shocked. all 3 meals had soggy old chicken. my husband and i got the ‘sesame chicken’ and it tasted like old regular fried chicken with sesame seeds. my sister got half orange chicken which was not the best and half general tso chicken and it was literally bright red… never seen that before. the rice was also very dry for 2 meals… can’t believe they saw the state of the chicken and actually made the decision to sell that to customers. disgusting. also the portions of chicken were so little. my plate had a lot of the tiny little end crunchy pieces of chicken more than actual bug bites of chicken.

I just wanna shout out this chinese spot. I forgot to take a picture in the plate itself. The food is delicious. You can tell the dude in back was hooking it up. “Fire in the hole” , if u like hotttt try the general tsos chicken. The chicken is fresh, the rice on point. This place has the worst Chinese food I have ever tried. First off it was served cold when it was supposed to be just cooked. The portions are small and you can tell the food is not fresh. The man behind the counter was nice and he said he was one of the owners. But they do not seem to know what the hell they are doing. I rarely leave negative reviews but this time I felt I must. It has recently changed ownership and I know I will not be back.

The food is really good here again! I am very impressed with the new ownership and my last two visits here! It always was wonderful growing up, and the new ownership really stuck to the old recipes here like they told me they were! They kept their word at that, big win! and I can tell-because this is just like I remember it growing up! Great noodles, rice, and egg rolls! Aa-and! best of all for me, and anyone who really likes General Tso’s Chicken, the chicken is moist and tender and actually spicy like it’s supposed to be! General Tso’s is supposed to be a-spicy sweet dish! Unlike most places in this food genre now-a-days that only make it sweet, China Express here in Lake Wales, does it right! The noodles are even a bit al dente! Rather than a mushy or an overly soft noodle!

Updated note: the fried rice is excellent! As well as the sweet and sour chicken! I am still working my way through the menu! If I find anything else noteworthy I will update the review as I go, but by far the service from Sarah has been really excellent! It’s nice to have the best food in the mall with the best genuine positivity, smile, and Godliness to boot! The chef also touched base and made sure I loved the chicken and that it was spicy enough!
I’d say this is the best in this genre for food in Lake Wales in general! You can tell they love what they do and put love into the food and service! Kudos-!!

The lo-mein was “sweeter” than expected and was not as fresh as the rice. The orange chicken didnt taste like orange chicken almost like a bbq flavor but it was still good! The rice was really good fresh and warm. The price was cheap for the pourtion that was given. The cashier/server was really nice and freindly! The tables in the food court were also very very clean.

We have been eating from here for over 4 year’s but today was our last. We returned our food after taking 1 bite. Everything about it was terrible. We tried 5 different foods here trying to find one that taste good. I’m eating pizza at solorzanos pizzeria while I write this review because I’m extremely annoyed that I just wasted $22 on food that we loved. I spoke to the lady who gave us different food and she told me it’s been under new management for a month. I’m not sure what receipt they use now but it’s terrible now nothing taste like it should as if they kept the main ingredients out.

Worst Chinese food I have ever eaten from a Chinese place. Looks like food had been cooked 3 days ago. The Fried rice was mixed with white rice and the sesame chicken was just flour, no chicken in it what so ever.

The new owners are super nice and very friendly. It is enjoyable to talk to them while getting your meal fixed up for you. Their bourbon chicken is the absolute best. We drive all the way from winter haven to go get a nice dinner and talk to some nice people.

Can definitely tell there’s been a change in ownership. Portions are a lot smaller. The bourbon chicken tastes weird. Can’t quite put my finger on it to explain it. Egg rolls are disgusting. The rice doesn’t even look or taste like fried rice. But if you’re starving this place is decent I guess.

Me and my family only come to the eagle ridge mall to eat at china express and omg the food is discusting. The portions are baby size and the cashier mia charged my husband $1.49 for lomein and $2.99 for extra chciken and didnt tell him that there would be an upcharge. We will never come to this restaurant again. What a waste of $35. Next time we will go to panda express.
