Don’t be fooled by the location and appearance of the front, this is a high quality Chinese restaurant with excellent food and very reasonable prices, too. We got drinks, fried dumplings, a medium soup, and Singapore Noodles (highly recommend, feeds 2) for $25. All excellent. We will drive the 10 miles of bad roads and sketchy areas to go here again. It would be so easy the dismiss this place by its location and curb appeal (not pretty), but once inside you’ll find the quintessential neighborhood Chinese decor and great food for reasonable prices. A very pleasant surprise to visit here.

Don’t be fooled by its exterior or neighborhood. China Doll offers some of the consistently most delicious Chinese food I’ve eaten. While I the interior design is forgettable, come and stay for the food. Take-out portions seem larger than the dine-in meals;either way, you will leave satisfied. The only false note for me is the shrimp fried rice. Good portion size but the dish is bland with only a few small shrimp, no vegetables as usually found in the dish, and not much scrambled egg. I doctor my fried rice at home to my taste.

Although the prices may be slightly higher, the generous portion sizes provide good value for money. Additionally, guests can appreciate the soothing background music, featuring either classic or jazz selections, while enjoying their meals. It is certainly a worthwhile experience.

Love it!!! And you’re not changing my mind… I’ve had horrible w/ a capital H experiences and haven’t had fried rice in years!!!! Then I remembered a coworker shared hers w/ me and I stopped by and I’m so glad I did… the lady at the counter was very nice made sure I had all my condiments and retrieved more to make sure I was good… I edited this June 1st 2024…its been that long…this is the best since I left Chicago and traveled to Thailand… you won’t change my mind… you’re on your own w/ the neighborhood I would never go at night but today my fried rice…wings and egg rolls are on point!!!

Ordered takeout low mein, beef fried rice, crab Rangoons and egg rolls. Ordered the low mein spicy and it was INCREDIBLE! The food portions are very generous and my husband said the egg rolls are the best he’s had in awhile! Over all the food is fantastic and was ready quickly! Cute keychains for sale inside too! Great neighborhood spot!
