We ordered general chicken small and sweet & sour pork large and crab Rangoons. The orderers were reversed size, and we didn’t get crab Rangoons… This is a take out place with a few tables. They expect you to take out. The sweet and sour pork had no peppers, onion or pineapple and the sauce was on the side. Ugh.

Don’t be put off by the atmosphere score this is a little hole in the wall place but as everyone should know they usually have the best food and China Cafe does . China Cafe has some of the best Chinese food in Haysville and Wichita well worth the drive if you live in or around Wichita . The restaurant was clean but small not fancy but the food and the people were excellent . A must try for Chinese food lovers .

We also had Vegetable Lo mein. Everything was delicious and really tasted homemade. Not at all like the processed tasting Chinese food at most places. The sauce was amazing, fresh and different! I can’t even put into words how different and how much better than normal everything we ordered tasted. Thank you for preparing us such fantastic food!

Just ate here for the first time and was really impressed! The gentleman who took my order and rang me up was friendly and the food is probably some of the best Chinese food I can recall having. It seemed well balanced and wasn’t just “Sugar Syrup Chicken” like you get everywhere else! Also, the portion sizing was extremely generous! I’d definitely recommend this place
Gonna be going back here for sure! =^-^=

I worked in a Chinese(Cantonese & Szechaun) restaurant in the early 1970’s outside Chicago and first learned to cook by handling the American food on the menu. I visited the two Chinese cook’s homes and Chinatown in Chicago. The menu was similar to the old, “Hong Kong” restaurant on south Seneca. I went through an annual, unannounced Health Department inspection usually at peak lunch time. I learned a lot about food surfaces, proper temperatures, and hygiene.
This little, cash only, restaurant has fairly good tasting food. I have tried most of their items.
HOWEVER, if the local Health Department visits, this business will be shut down IMMEDIATELY. There are old(very old) grease drippings that hang everywhere. The place is extremely filthy. Cooking area was filthy. Why did I return? Food is good and I noticed food preparation was handled correctly. Meat and vegetables were fresh.
If the place had an extreme deep clean it may entice first time customer to return.
