Yikes. The China Buffet in Alma is without a doubt the worst buffet I have ever been to. In fact, it is the worst restaurant I have ever been to.
I wouldn’t go here if it was free. It’s that bad.
The food looks ok, but wow does it taste rancid. Stale, old and greasy. Most likely used over and over day after day, refrigerated and reheated each day.
The service is nearly non-existent.
The atmosphere……….. Triple YIKES! Everything looks straight out of the late 80’s. There is no music, it is SUPER quiet. Especially with no customers. The floors are sticky. The decor is old and faded.
Do not recommend!

This is obviously not the best buffet I have had before. It has limited selection and relatively small in size. However, I rate it 5 stars considering the following facts. First, the taste is actually not bad, some are even better than more expensive buffet. Second, the price is reasonable. Many restaurants raised their prices after COVID. This one has lowest price hikes compared to other Chinese buffet. They seem to be dedicated to their business in a small town setting. They received the community service awards as well. Considering the food/price ratio, I think they are good. They have been in business for a long time and I hope they will continue for a long time.
Update: the current lunch price is $9 include tax before tips,.

The place was very clean. Food was decently fresh and seasoned well.

My son and I stopped in tonight after a long car ride through the State. Food was delicious! It’s a very cozy and clean restaurant, but definitely busy! Give the lady that seats and serves tables a good pay, because she was on top of things despite her being the only server on the floor!
Keeping this place tucked in our back pocket for the next time we visit Alma ❤️

I have no idea why do many complain about this place. It is wonderful and worth the drive! I use to come here before I lived in the area and I’ve never had bad food or anything but great service! Maybe it’s just their negative mindsets but this was the first restaurant I ate in after I was hit by a truck and still in a wheelchair a couple years ago! Great people, great service and great food!

Hey- so I have been going to this buffet for a long time, I live in Alma and I have been enjoying their food for years. But I had a very rude experience today. I am a physically disabled person with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, which limits my mobility in my arms and hands, so when I eat, I lean over and eat with my mouth. My friend has also made a review on this very experience. After I got my first plate and was eating as usual, the waitress (who signed the bill with the initial M) came up to me and gestured to my silverware (which I cannot use) and told me to use my fork, I looked at her and scooted back in my both, showing her my arms so that she could see, even though she saw me when I walked in, and told her that I was disabled. All she replied with was “Oh okay” and then did not come back to our table until she gave us the bill, not to refill my drink or anything. I am not sure if this was a language barrier or genuine ableism, but I’m very disappointed because I enjoy this place, it’s a shame that this lady is so rude, she never apologized. Not sure if I’ll go back.

Now by no means is this a hate speech because I do enjoy Asian sorry if that’s improperly said Chinese food. I eat Chinese food every week but this place is no where near the high caliber those well deserved places are. The outside of the building looked nothing like the online photos just a grey drab color with nothing to attract customers however there were quite a few customers.
I could not eat the food within a few bites of their buffet items I had an immediate food allergy that I couldn’t swallow I kept coughing the entire time I was there and that never happened in any other Chinese buffet restaurant. Definitely will not be back

My sister and I went here so she could get some food. For reference, she has Arthrogryposis (which is a physical disability) and is not able to bend her arms to use utensils so she eats with her mouth. Right after we got her first plate, the dark haired lady that sat us at our table came up, waved the silverware in her face, and said, “use your fork!”. My sister then said she was disabled and all this lady said back was, “oh, okay”. She then proceeded to not come and check on us again until we got our bill. Terrible experience. I can’t believe a woman would be so disrespectful and ableist. Just wow.

The food was pretty good tasting, but greasy. The service is poor – the server hides in a booth in the back where she can’t see when someone is at the register. The decor is outdated, and I saw what I believe is mold around the window.

I have enjoyed a meal here several times and I have never been disappointed. The dishes offered on the buffet were very fresh, hot, and delicious. The staff very friendly and never left you needing. By far my favorite place to eat. The food is soooo good and there is no waiting, you walk in grab a plate and get your food. Yummy !!!
