We waited at the bar for 30 minutes had a drink for two people with tip was 23$.
Our sever was helpful and attentive. We ordered a pizza and a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. I had low expectations and didn’t think the food would be that good.
The margarita pizza was on a cracker like thin crust. It snapped under the finger pressure. The sauce was good not too sweet. Small snippets of fresh basil. As a NJ pizza snob I was surprised at how much I liked it. The Nashville chicken sando was so crispy. The bun was perfectly toasted, the pickle chips on top were thick and crunchy. My wife loved the fries I thought they were just ok.
The tap water was not good. Like metallic aftertaste and even with lemon squeeze it was not good. Dinner and two adult beverages came out to about 70$.
There was a woman playing guitar in the front of the bar area doing cover song and original tunes.
I would come back again.
Our server, Alex, was incredibly friendly and very attentive throughout the night.
We started with the pierogies as an appetizer — they were a little greasy and topped with a lot of onions, but still enjoyable. For dinner, I had the gnocchi, which was really good. My fiancé ordered the adult grilled cheese, and my mother got the chicken pot pie; they both loved their meals.
Overall, I would definitely return. It’s a great spot for a comforting, cozy dinner with good food and a welcoming atmosphere.
Ordered a drink from the special menu and told it was not available. Ordered a bottle cider and they were out of that. Settled for a bottle beer.
Had my appetizer for 15 minutes before the server thought to ask if I wanted anything else. Ordered BBQ platter and he asked if I wanted a salad (NOT part of the menu item). Never got the salad.
Took him two tries coming back with me sitting at empty table for 10 min before offering to get the check and it took another 10 for it to arrive and he took off without the card sitting on the table.
Overall good food. Good music but service quality was not great. I would have ordered more but I was at the hour and a half mark. Next time sitting at the bar, service looked quick there.
We ordered the supreme nachos,
Chips, meat, cheese, diced tomatoes and diced jalapeno which was not on the nachos. It’s my fault for not reading the description but there was nothing supreme about them supreme nachos anywhere else would have beans, onion, celantro and more depending on where you go. The Not So Supreme Nachos were $12.99 plus $0.79 for fresh jalapeños (6 small slices) and $1.79 for sour cream for he portion was probably about a 4th of what I’m used to seeing from places.
Let’s say so far I’m not impressed with this place at all so far.
For the meal, I got the bison burger. The burger was sad looking and plain. There was no cheese, but I should have read that a little more carefully. I asked for chipotle sauce on the side, which never arrived. The burger wasn’t as dry as it looked and it had decent flavor. It would have been better if it had a little more too it. There was more bread than burger.
My girlfriend got the cowboy burger and when it arrived, it looked delicious. Unfortunately, when she took a bite she said the bread was very dry and the burger lacked flavor. The onion rings and the bbq sauce didn’t even help the taste. She lost her appetite not even half way through. She tried to remove the bun, but it was too tasteless to really enjoy.
We won’t be returning to this restaurant, it really wasn’t worth the trip. We tossed the food when we got home because we didn’t have the heart to let the waitress know it wasn’t good but we have it on good authority that she already knew as the majority of the customers we’re bringing their full meals home with them
As with any large group, we all did not arrive at the exact same time but as our guests arrived, our server Beatrice, aka B, was quick to greet us and get our drinks. She even was able to keep the individual family checks organized, as splitting the bill doesn’t always work in large group settings.
With all our orders in, the wait did not seem that long and the food surprisingly came out all within a reasonable time frame for such a large group. The runners were helpful as well as the other staff who was helping out.
I started off with a Lunch IPA from Maine Brewing Company that is sometimes hard to come across so was happy to see it on the menu.
We did not get appetizers, but from what I saw what was being served to others in the group, they looked good.
I ordered the Smoked Brisket (Tender beef brisket, homemade coleslaw, pickles & hot cherry peppers on a toasted brioche bun. BBQ sauce on the side) and opted for the side salad as my side vs. fries. I was hungry at the time and dug right in. While it was tasty, it was not as good as I was expecting. Admittedly, I realized the side of BBQ was missing after I was almost done. No doubt a rookie mistake to have not realized it was missing, but nonetheless, it happened, and I ate the sandwich without the sauce. No doubt if I asked for the sauce they would have provided it to me.
My daughter, who is a vegetarian, ordered the Vegan Tacos (Homemade cilantro lime rice, topped w/ our classic vegetarian chili, avocado salsa, vegan cheese & cilantro), and was able to substitute the vegan cheese with some real cheese with no issues. Overall, she was happy with the overall quality and taste, and the only complaint was she was still hungry after eating the meal and I ended up getting her a slice of pizza on the way home to fill the void.
Overall the service was phenomenal especially with such a large crowd. Drinks were served, water pitchers were filled, and I even had time for a second beer without waiting a long time. I truly love giving 5 stars and hope my future visit will have me updating my overall rating to a 5 star. Despite my experience, will definitely return and try other items I was eying up. Truth be told, was at the Flemington location and it was a 5 star experience. While I could have asked for the sauce that should have already been on the plate and I’m sure my sandwich would have been better. I do realize they are fairly new and need to be a bit sympathetic, but how do you forget the BBQ sauce (admittedly, I can argue how did I let that go when it was served.) Additionally, this was one of the few times my daughter was still hungry after a meal.
With that said, looking forward to returning soon.
Our food barely came out warm. I ordered the smoked BBQ platter, which is advertised as ribs and brisket, but when my plate arrived it had ribs only—no brisket at all. The boneless buffalo wings were anything but buffalo-flavored and lacked any real taste. The only item that came out hot was the fried pickles, which I personally didn’t enjoy anyway.
To make matters worse, our waiter even commented that if you’re hungry, there aren’t many filling meals here. That alone says a lot. The steak options are only 5 oz, which is hardly satisfying. When I asked for recommendations, pizza was suggested—if I want pizza, I’ll go to a pizzeria, not a sit-down restaurant.
Overall, this was not an enjoyable meal, and between the temperature issues, missing items, and lack of substantial options, this is a one-and-done visit for me.
We ordered a barbecue platter, barbecue sandwich and a fried chicken sandwich all of which were well received by my family. My BBQ sandwich included hot peppers which was interesting but did mask the more delicate flavor of the meat. If I ordered this again (which I’m inclined to do) I would ask for it ‘sans peppers’ to not overwhelm the flavor.
I would definitely go here again.
