I was impressed by the variety of family-friendly meal options and was excited to give this local, small business meal service a try for some help on busy weeknights! The ease of online ordering and free local delivery was appreciated. All the meals were so delicious and flavorful; we tried 4 of the large family meals, advertised to feed 5-6 people; we loved them all and wanted more (literally)! The portions were very small for the value…think side dish sized portions. For further context, the large size meal comes in a 9″ round by 2″ deep foil pie pan. Splitting this meal 5-6 ways was really a stretch as I have big eaters. I unfortunately had to make other meals for each night that I planned for these, to ensure enough food was had, which kinda defeated the convenience of freezer meals. That said, it would be great to see a 13″x9″ sized meal, offered for larger families. Overall, the idea of these meals are great for busy families on the go or new parents. They are very tasty and the delivery straight to our door was so convenient, but just be aware if you have a bigger family/bigger eaters, you’ll likely want more than just 1 large sized family meal.

Do yourself a favor mom’s and get your family a Chilled Freezer Meals membership! I am going on year 3 and although my husband has asked me cut this from our budget, I cannot! The power packs are the only way I get lunch during my 10 hour shifts! The family meals are perfect for our jam packed week nights running to kids activities. There are so many added monthly perks, not to mention free delivery to my door! I literally cannot wait for the 1st of the month when tou get to see the new menu! My kids BEG for the breakfast bars every single week. Communication is by far touch notch if any concerns. Start your membership now!

I was really looking forward to trying this company for the first time after hearing so many great reviews. I even spent over $150 to qualify for free shipping because I was excited to stock up. Unfortunately, when my order arrived, all of the freezer meals were warm instead of frozen and leaking everywhere. Not only is this a serious food safety issue, but when I reached out, I was told they wouldn’t cover it because I had unchecked the shipping protection option at checkout. I’ve ordered from many meal delivery services over the years and have never had an experience where the food was inedible even with shipping delays. For $150 worth of food, I expected proper quality control and safe handling, not to be left with meals I couldn’t eat. I had high hopes for this service, but sadly I was very disappointed with the experience.
Update: The company responded that shipping protection would have covered the order and offered a possible partial refund if I sent photos of the shipment. While I understand shipping variables exist, it is not reasonable to expect customers to document leaking and unsafe food as a condition for a refund. Other meal delivery services I’ve used have managed shipping without requiring extra protection, so it was very disappointing to have the responsibility shifted to me instead of addressing the food safety issue and taking accountability for the way products are packaged. Clearly, the current insulation and one bag of dry ice is not sufficient.

I love having the power packs in the freezer for quick meals for myself, and they work perfectly to split between the two kids also. Chilled offers a great selection of delicious and ready to cook meal options for a family dinner or lunch for one. My personal faves are the single-serve soup options (the Mexican Street Corn soup is the bomb), the macro-balanced power packs, the Mississippi Chicken, and all of the French Toast casseroles. It is a terrific option for those days when you just don’t feel like cooking.

I think our family has been with Chilled since the beginning or shortly thereafter. It has been a mainstay in our family with favorites like Tuscan chicken, any breakfast burrito, fajitas and a new favorite, chicken enchiladas.
