We did the sizzling beef, Kung Pao chicken, and cabbage stir fry. Everything was delicious but the beef was definitely the stand out. The sauce was perfect and the meat was good quality. Will be back next time we’re in Orlando to try more dishes.
It’s possible that my visit was just an off day, or that things have changed since earlier recommendations, I’m not sure if there has been a change in the kitchen or ownership. The food wasn’t terrible, but if you’re specifically looking for fresh, lighter, or more health-focused Chinese dishes, you may want to explore a few other options in the area.
That said, service was fine and the place was busy, so others may enjoy it more than I did. Just wanted to share my honest experience for anyone deciding where to go.
Highly recommended dishes:
• Slices of Tendon, Beef, and Tripe in Sichuan Chili Sauce – spicy, with the signature numbing sensation from the peppercorns.
• Sichuan Wontons – the wontons were well-prepared, and the sauce was spot-on: slightly sweet but still spicy.
• Green Bean Jelly in Chili Sauce – again, the sauce was excellent.
• Chongqing Spicy Popcorn Chicken – the standout dish. While the authentic version uses bone-in chicken, this boneless version was very close to the real deal. The small pieces were well-seasoned and juicy inside.
• Numbing and Spicy Boiled Beef – very enjoyable, not overly oily, and the beef was tender. The balance of spice and the signature Sichuan numbing sensation was just right.
• Stir-Fried Cumin Lamb – a decent dish, though I expected sliced lamb rather than thinly shaved pieces.
Overall, quite happy with these dishes. The heat level is genuinely Sichuan-medium. This place can easily rival Taste of Chengdu for authenticity.
We were dining with our four-year-old child, which made the prolonged wait especially difficult and frustrating. While we understand that weekends can be busy, a two-hour wait without proactive updates, apologies, or effort to manage expectations is unacceptable.
The restaurant appeared severely understaffed and disorganized. This reflects poorly on management and significantly impacted our overall experience. We cannot recommend dining here based on this visit.
The service is excellent, and the vibe is great.
If you want to experience authentic spicy Chinese cuisine, definitely check it out!
The seasoning was quite good—both the Mouthwatering Chicken (Kou Shui Ji) and the Pepper Fish had nice flavors. However, the ingredients were disappointing. The chicken was frozen and dry, and the fish was also frozen and lacked texture. They do offer fresh fish, but it comes at a steep price—over $50.
I’ll give it another try next time and explore more dishes!
If you have an Asian stomach or simply love authentic Sichuan flavors, don’t hesitate to try this amazing restaurant. I’m sure you’ll agree with me.
