Very good Chinese food. We usually come here as our favorite in the area.

Great food in a no-frills type of environment. Staff here is incredibly efficient, our table was cleared before we’d even left the building. Make a reservation or prepare for long lines. Pictured are the spicy wontons (fantastic, especially with the provided vinegar) and a pork and cabbage dish. Both winners.

This was my second visit at this place. We went for lunch on a weekday and the restaurant was almost empty. Lunch for two people with three entrees and an appetizer came out to be pretty expensive, over 90 dollars! They should clearly mention about the service charge before we place an order, and then they expect you to tip as well. For the service we got, I would give them 1 star for at least taking our order! Never checked on us after bringing our food. Combination rice was average at its best and explosive chicken was just a plateful of chillies with few pieces of chicken. Very disappointed with the meal for the price we paid, even more for the service.

You have to call and reserve the peking duck in advance which we didn’t so we had the duck infused in tea which was very good. The octopus with vegetables was the highlight, perfectly flavoured. The veggie dumplings were average tho.

Beef pancakes were amazing. The dry pots have such succulent meat. Is it charcoaled? I don’t know, but if they’re not charcoaling it I don’t know how they get these flavors. Overall best chinese restaurant in sf with hon’s wonton house (I know they’re different style, but high quality and legit chinese food is hard to find in sf imo)

You must try the roasted duck! And don’t forget to call the restaurant one hour early to preorder it. Shangxi cool noodles are fresh and the sauce tastes great It is a great option to order together with the roasted duck!

The main purpose of coming here was for the Peking duck. It was ~$70, came with a choice of getting the bones in a soup or stir fry, and with pancake wrap, some veggies for the wrap and duck sauce.

The place is famous for Peiking duck; have to pre order duck. I have been there with big groups or with a couple of friends, all good. If you don’t eat spicy food you can order with less spicy or there are many none spicy options. Beside Peking duck, cumin beef is always good.

This place is amazing. Make sure to reserve the Peking duck. We overheard so many people trying to order it when they sat down and they were very disappointed. Spicy wontons and mini lamb flaming pot were sooooo good! I can’t really handle super spicy, but this had great flavor so I just kept eating!

So sad we didn’t get to try the Peking duck! The tea smoked duck was still amazing though. The other dishes were also delicious but I wouldn’t get the soup dumplings here. We had enough for another meal at home
