We originally had plans to eat at the restaurant at the other end of the strip mall. We compared the number of parked cars in front of each and we decided to come here. It was a good decision. To be what it is, where it is, this place is a 5. Don’t expect a Chuy’s or a Pappasitos or On The Border, but this place is darn close. The combinations are great and the rest of the menu gives even more options.
The sauces are really good. I opted to upgrade to the cheese sauce for my enchiladas and that came close to Chuy’s Boom Boom Enchiladas without the Boom.
We visited at the end of the lunch hour on a stand the place was still packed, filled with locals and workers alike. We’ll now consider ourselves a local, even though we live in Boone. It was worth the trip.
The only bad note is the ultra cheap sheet metal stamped out stainless steel tableware which degrades from the otherwise good experience.

Chile Verde will always be in my heart as one of the first restaurants that formed my love for the language of Spanish and saved my life! I was taking care of my mom who was sick and had a full time job in doing so. I could only eat certain foods because of my sickness. Most restaurants made me sick. At Chile Verde their food is wholesome and healthy and is cooked that way. My system did not react badly to their foods. I say they saved my life because when I would run out at home or not be able to cook because of taking care of my mom I would completely run out, but I had their food. Chile Verde is more than just a restaurant to me. They are like family to me and their healthy wholesome food saved my life. Thank you to the owners and all the staff who made my stay worthwhile and now I am learning Spanish as a result. I love you guys! Love, Aimee

Every time I order take out here or someone in my family does they get the order wrong. Maybe they don’t understand English I dunno. But I’m sure take out is a big portion of their business and they need to start doing a better job or people will shop elsewhere. Ordered last night, repeated the order to the guy made him repeat it back just to make sure, still wrong ♂️

It’s now at the top of our list for local Mexican. I made a meal out of the loaded nachos. My wife got the chimichangas and really liked it. Service was great, especially considering we waited till almost closing time to stop in.

This is my new favorite restaurant in Wilkesboro. Both the food and service were great! I walked in right after they opened and was greeted and offered a drink within a minute. My server was friendly and attentive (without being pushy). The atmosphere was nice and the prices are reasonable for the large portions you get.

Their food is amazing. And highly recommend the Jose Pina! Its a half of a pineapple with its inside scooped put, and then they put a fajita in it and pineapple also mixed in! Rice on the side. Fantastic

We happened in to Chile Verde after our day at MerleFest. The service was superb. Our meals were superb. I had the Jose Pina, served in a half pineapple. It was unique and delicious and reasonably priced. I think it was pretty healthy too. We live 50 miles away, but plan to return whenever we can.
