Tom was our waiter tonight, and the extra attention (he noticed my husband watching the UFC fight on his phone and put it on one of the TVs for him) is something you don’t see in many restaurants and is so appreciated. All the staff was incredibly kind, the menu thoughtful, the community approach noticed.
The food and drinks were wonderful, and it’s a place that makes you want to stay and come back again and again with family and friends – a homey place that is unique, fun, warm, and inviting. Joy exudes from it. Thank you!! 🙂
I got boneless wings, teriyaki and honey bbq. The outside was crispy, not hard, very nice texture, and the chicken inside was juicy.
As a table we also got potato skins and cheese curds. The skins were huge and came out so fast, so hot they practically burned our mouthes, so be careful of that. The cheese curds were perfectly crispy. Despite being fried they didn’t taste oily or greasy. Would recommend the ranch with them personally, but the marinara sauce it comes with was also good. Lots of curds for the price ($14.99).
I would say this place has a definite value for the price we paid for it.
The atmosphere was also pleasant. It wasn’t too dark or too bright. The fire station theme was well done and inviting.
If you’re there for the sports, there were plenty of TVs. From where I was sitting it looked like every seat in the restaurant had a view of at least one TV if not more.
The food was fantastic! Every dish came out fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The menu has something for everyone — from hearty burgers and wings to lighter salads and shareable appetizers. Even our picky eaters were happy!
The staff really stood out — friendly, attentive, and great with kids. They made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed.
There’s plenty of seating, clean restrooms, and a nice mix of indoor and outdoor space. It’s the kind of place you can come to for a casual lunch, a family dinner, or even to catch a game with friends.
We’ll definitely be coming back — it’s rare to find a spot that combines great food, great service, and a genuinely family-friendly vibe.

If there’s a place in Lake Forest where the world slows down long enough for you to breathe, it’s Chiefs Pub. Walking through their doors feels like stepping into the modern version of Cheers — the kind of place where everyone really does know your name, and if they don’t yet, they will by your second visit.
There’s an atmosphere here that can’t be faked.
It’s familiar.
Warm.
Comfortable in a way that settles into you like a deep exhale after a long day.
Chiefs Pub doesn’t just serve food and drinks — it serves belonging.
The staff is the heartbeat of this place. They greet you with genuine smiles, honest conversation, and the kind of hospitality that feels like you’ve been coming here for years. You’re not just another table. You’re part of the room — part of the laughter, the energy, the stories being shared across the bar.
The food is consistently fantastic. With real, hearty, satisfying dishes made with care, not shortcuts. Every plate feels like something crafted for family, not customers. Add in an ice-cold drink, and suddenly you’re not at a restaurant anymore… you’re at your spot.
The vibe is everything a true neighborhood pub should be:
Lively but never loud, friendly but never forced, inviting in a way that makes you want to stay just a little longer.
Conversations cross tables.
Strangers become friends.
Memories settle into corners.
And the walls feel like they’re holding stories that started long before you walked in — and will continue long after you leave.
Chiefs Pub is more than a place to eat or drink.
It’s the kind of place you grow attached to.
The kind of place you look forward to.
The kind of place that feels like home even when life feels anything but.
If you’ve been searching for that real-life Cheers;
that spot where the spirit is warm, the faces are familiar, and the welcome is genuine;
you’ve found it.
Chiefs Pub is the soul of Lake Forest. A place where you don’t just visit…
you belong.
I had the Reuben Egg Rolls and they certainly live up to whatever you think it tastes like in your mind. It was so good that I will certainly be back to get more.
The burger was simple but done really, really, really well. That’s the thing, it’s no frills, old school smash burger that hits every note exactly as it should. It’s cool, it’s refreshing and everything a smash burger ought to be.
I will be back again and I really enjoyed my experience here.
