Very disappointing experience. I placed my order at 11 AM and even called around 2 PM to confirm it would be ready for pickup. When I arrived, I was told it was not ready and had to wait over 30 more minutes.
What made it worse was the complete lack of customer service. There was no apology, no concern, and no sense of urgency from the staff. The attitude made it feel like they were doing me a favor by selling food to me.
The food may be good, but the poor customer service completely ruined the experience. I left feeling very disrespected and will not be returning. This is why businesses like this dont thrive despite how good yhe food is! They lack customer service and basic humanity.

The food is excellent, but the customer service is very poor. Items are consistently sold out, and the business often seems understaffed. I attempted to purchase suya for an entire week and was unsuccessful each time because it was unavailable. As a business owner, it is important to ensure there are enough ingredients and staff to meet customer demand. While the food quality is great, the service needs serious improvement.

I live 3 minutes down the street and recently began ordering. I don’t know why I thought all this while this business only serviced large scale catering.

The food is delicious! The portion sizes are great! The price is reasonable! The customer service is on point! The system is efficient!

They took specific dishes and perfected it! Exceptional attention to details that often are challenges with other African restaurants.

My only concern is my wallet – I am sure I will look at my expenses monthly
and shake my head but remember the overall benefit and repeat!!

Fingers crossed it only gets better. THANK YOU!

The suya is amazing no doubt but they are always out of stock. For a week straight we have been trying to get suya from them and they are always sold out after being open for a couple hours. Please fix this.

Best suya in the DMV—take it from someone who has traveled hours everywhere trying them. One bite of the chicken Todun Suya and the search was over.

The food was absolutely outstanding—rich in flavor, perfectly seasoned, and clearly prepared with care. We ordered the fried yam, soft grilled dark meat chicken, plantains, and suya—all of which exceeded our expectations in both taste and presentation. I only wish the plantains were a softer and sweet.

What truly set this restaurant apart, however, was the service. Compared to many other African and Jamaican restaurants in the area, the staff here demonstrated a remarkable level of professionalism and courtesy that did not go unnoticed.

It’s refreshing to see such a high standard of both food and service. I sincerely hope they continue to uphold this level of excellence, as it makes supporting this business not only easy but deeply worthwhile.

The chicken was very tasty. Also bought Meatpie and fish rolls.Pastry was very well done and tasted just like the Nigerian Meatpie and fish roll I grew up eating back in Nigeria.Staff was courteous and the ambience was nice with music in the background for you to enjoy.
Real Thumbs up to the whole team and here’s hoping the standard will be maintained.

idk who that rude, nasty girl is working today with the blonde dusty braids & headset but she is SO RUDE!!!!! My friends & I found this lil gem a few months back. we loved coming here. It was our #1 spot for suya. We NEVER had any bad experience until today. As she was just throwing our bag on the counter. My friend had to ask her to confirm this was our correct order but she was so busy trying to run away, so we couldn’t ask for anything. We asked if we could have some pepper sauce because it’s our favorite. She said it was in the bag, when we checked nothing was there. We asked if we could have some. she started saying oh we don’t have that. We let her know we didn’t mind paying, it’s 2025 we understand how these times are. She then proceed to say oh we don’t sell it ? like huh? what do you mean? if we’re willing to pay for the sauces then why are we not allowed to have them. Especially when you order certain menu items the sauce comes with it I understand everyone has a bad day & things happen but my goodness. Being so nasty & rude to customers for no reason is classless! she needs to be removed from the front area if she doesn’t want to interact with customers

Review for Chicken to Dun – A Taste of Nigeria in Maryland

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you’re looking for an authentic Nigerian dining experience in Maryland, look no further than Chicken to Dun! This gem of a restaurant delivers not only delicious food but also a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

From the moment you walk in, the vibrant decor and friendly staff set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The menu boasts a variety of traditional Nigerian dishes, but I was particularly excited to try their fish platter. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint!

The fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, with a delightful crispiness on the outside while remaining tender and flaky on the inside. The accompanying sides—jollof rice and plantains—were equally impressive. The jollof rice was rich in flavor, with just the right amount of spice, while the plantains were sweet and caramelized, making for a perfect complement to the meal.

What truly stands out at Chicken to Dun is the attention to detail in their dishes. Each plate is a labor of love, showcasing the authenticity of Nigerian cuisine. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring you leave satisfied and eager to return.

Whether you’re a fan of Nigerian food or trying it for the first time, Chicken to Dun is a must-visit. The combination of delicious food, welcoming service, and a cozy ambiance makes it the perfect spot for a casual meal or a special occasion. I can’t wait to come back and explore more.
