We love making the drive out here because we can stop by pops!
Chicken is on the smaller side but so fresh and good and the fried okra!!
Sweet tea is chef’s kiss.
Really nice back area too. Can have private parties, lots of seating and a fireplace.

I’ve driven by this place so many times and every single time it’s been crazy packed so we decided to drive up here early on a weekday and see for ourselves why. I needed to see what the hype was. I have to admit the place is much bigger on the inside than what I thought it would be. Every inch and room had great atmosphere. Loved the farmhouse decor! The food on the other hand was just okay, maybe we should had tried different options because the Hot wings, fries, chicken strips were not it. I would definitely come back on a different day to enjoy the scenery but not so much for the food.

The chicken shack on a Friday night is definitely a vibe. The okra was incredible. The mac & cheese not so much, even the kids didn’t eat it. The fried chicken could use some seasoning. Definitely a place to take the kids where they can run around, but you get to drink cold beer and listen to live music.

The chicken was excellent and the mashed potatoes and gravy were really good. Also had fried pickles as an appetizer and it was delicious. It is a neat place to go to. Had fun going there with my family. Definitely recommend it.

I stopped by The Chicken Shack on Route 66, and it was well worth it! The chicken was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor, and the mac and cheese was creamy and comforting. The okra and onion rings were perfectly fried and full of that classic Southern taste. It was a little on the pricey side, but the quality and portion sizes made it worth every penny. I’d definitely come back again — great food, friendly service, and a true Route 66 gem!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆

We stopped in at the Chicken Shack in Arcadia with a large group, and it was a great time! The food was really good, fresh, and flavorful, and the whole concept is both innovative and fun—it makes the experience stand out. The service was solid (I’d give it a 4/5), and even with our big party, everything went smoothly. Overall, a lively place to enjoy a meal and some laughs with friends and family. Definitely worth the stop!

The atmosphere was the best part about the meal. I ordered the chicken chunks and okra. The chicken chunks were unseasoned so beware. The broasted chicken was good. Had way more flavor. The chicken is also non breaded fried chicken. The okra was okay, pretty standard. The wedges had no flavor. The fried green beans lacked flavor as well. The fried pickles were decent. Not the best. The waitress wasn’t as attentive. Had to flag down someone else to refill our drinks. Overall i had high hopes but was kind of let down.

It was worth the drive. Food was yummy, loved the chicken, loved our server, she was very attentive, fun and friendly. She photo bombed our family pic. Very memorable experience. Cool atmosphere, loved the fireplace thing. The building was huge, very warm and inviting. Great place for families.

The atmosphere is so nice here. The broasted pork chops and chicken strips were very good, although the chops were a bit bland compared to usual. The Shack mac is so yum and mashed taters with pepper gravy is like Charlestons-mmm. Rob, our server, was excellent. Met our every need and with such a pleasant personality. Had good suggestions as well. Clean interior, which is so appreciated and everyone working as a team. We love getting away to the Chicken Shack to relax and have a fun time. Highly recommend. Be aware that live music is Loud, so if you’re planning on a weekend, especially, remember that.

We originally planned to eat at another spot up the road, but when there were no available tables, we decided to give The Chicken Shack a try—and we’re glad we did! It has a family-friendly roadhouse-meets-farmhouse vibe (minus the rowdiness), and it’s conveniently located right on Route 66, near the Arcadia Round Barn. This is a family-owned broasted chicken restaurant, and even though we live just 40 minutes away, we’re already planning a return trip to try more of the menu.

PROS:

✅️ Great location on Route 66
✅️ Plenty of parking
✅️ Spacious dining area with lots of seating
✅️ The chicken strips were absolutely delicious—huge, tender, and perfectly cooked
✅️ We ordered the 3-strip meal and were glad we didn’t go bigger—these strips are generous
✅️ Booth seating (which we love!)
✅️ Not cramped—tables are spaced out nicely
✅️ Clean dining area
✅️ Kid-friendly atmosphere with a large outdoor space to let little ones run around
✅️ Outdoor seating available
✅️ Restrooms were a nice size and well-kept
✅️ Prices in my opinion were great for the quality and portions.

CON:

⚠️ It took about 20 minutes and flagging down our server to get a drink refill

OUR ORDER:

️ Fried Pickles – Light, crispy batter and served with ranch. Really tasty!
️ 3-Piece Chicken Strips – Large, juicy, real chicken pieces. We absolutely LOVED the chicken strips. We tried both the Chicken Shack Sauce and Honey Mustard. Both were good, but the Honey Mustard was our favorite—not too sweet and very flavorful.
️ Fries – Simple and good.
️ Fried Okra – Nicely cooked with a crispy exterior. I added a little salt, and they were just right.
️Sweet Tea – Excellent! Just the right sweetness!

*the lighting was not favorable to take photos at our particular seat, so no food pics.
