Chicken Express, After almost a decade of experience under another franchise, the Stuart’s launched the Chicken Express name in March 1988 in Benbrook, TX and in October 1988 in Mineral Wells, TX–the home base for Chicken Express. Residing in Mineral Wells the Stuart’s expanded the Chicken Express name and product originally by being one of the very first fast food chicken delivery businesses, making their slogan “our chicken can’t fly, so we deliver.” The delivery business was very successful for spreading the word and product, so in 1990 until 1994 all new franchises utilized the dine-in, drive-thru, or “delivery” concept.

This is the worst chicken express in town everytime I go the chicken is basically stale as hell and the okra is as well. Always have missing items as well and every single time I go I get the worst chicken peices that are mostly bone so I end up only being able to eat my sides. After I just spent all that money on a meal I won’t even be able to eat. Ur employees are sleeping and extremely slow clearly nobody’s working bc nothing is fresh every single time I go.

I like the atmosphere of the place, when there is a lot of people in there it’s does not feel crowded. Our food/mines Chicken was hot, fresh and delicious. The 2 ladies with me had fish Dinners and they were satisfied with their purchased.

The lady taking the order was rude, didn’t let me finish my order while pretending to not hear me. I only know this because she told her co-worker, then laughed. Then gave me spicy tenders instead of regular. The workers for sure don’t care about the business.

This location of Chicken Express is off of West Hwy 277 on the north side. Easy to get off and back on the highway. About 5 miles west of Hwy 287.
They usually have fairly quick service and they are frequently busy because of their location.
The food is made fresh, yummy, and moderately affordable. Fried chicken, chicken tenders, fried fish, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, coleslaw, and corn nuggets.
The restaurant offers dine in, drive thru, or take out. The dining room is clean and there is plenty of room for a crowd of people.
The bathrooms are mostly clean, there was some hand towels littering the floor and the trash was full.
I had to wait about seven minutes for the fish to be fried, as I had arrived after the church down the street was letting out from the latest services. With that being said, the turn around for my order to be filled wasn’t a long wait, considering.
The cashier was friendly and courteous, and explained that the fish would take a bit longer as a fresh batch was frying.
All the employees were working quickly and not one of them was stagnant.

It’s been the longest day working two jobs, and I was completely drained. I pulled up to Chicken express at 9:59, not realizing they closed at 10. I felt awful once I realized, especially after ordering a made-to-cook item — but the team was so kind, patient, and went above and beyond without hesitation. They had no idea the kind of day I’d had, but they showed me grace and served with genuine kindness. God bless them — I’m truly grateful for the best service tonight!
