When I say this place is nostalgic for me! It has touch points to my entire childhood, so when I heard it re-opened, I knew this had to be my first stop off the plane when I visited GR! I met the owner and we talked for what felt like an hour, she’s so personable, warm and welcoming. She’s a gem to the community!
The food was delicious, wings hit like they used to, fries were good. Both with the perfect blend of seasoning!
Can’t wait to visit GR again and have some chicken coop!

Made an order here through Grubhub and while I never received the order, my understanding of the service is that it was absolutely atrocious. On the Grubhub app it claims their Smelt Dinners come with “slaw, fries & pop”. I placed an order for that, as well as an order of Hot Wings. I received a call from my Grubhub driver asking me if the order was meant to come with a drink, which I said, yes, as the dinner clearly states it does. What followed was a yelling match from the manager and the driver, with the manager claiming “If it isn’t on the screen, I can’t do it.” I can only assume that the dinner was meant to come with a can of pop.. and the resolution I received from this was my order being cancelled and never getting my food delivered to me.

This is my first time trying this place since Cindy’s chicken coop closed. The food was mid and the service was OK considering there was 1 person working. That poor man took orders, cooked the food and everything else. I commend him for his hard work. They also have some pretty good deals.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to eat chicken in a dirty gas station break room run by a single guy doing both cashier and fry cook duty with the enthusiasm of a DMV clerk, look no further.
I walked in—the place was grimy, one guy working, blank stare, no greeting. I said “hello,” and he just kind of stared back at me. Then he silently pointed at a paper menu on the counter and walked away without a word. At this point, I figured maybe he had a hearing impairment or something.
I saw a sign for a $5.99 two-piece combo in the front window, so I ordered that when he came back. (Turns out, totally fine hearing—just not much of a talker, I guess.) While waiting, I watched him repeat this same bizarre interaction with a couple of other customers.
I waited 25–30 minutes while he cooked all three orders at once. Finally got my food, went home… and it was inedibly bad. The chicken was so salty it felt like a prank. The fries were limp, frozen grocery store fries barely resurrected in oil. The can of Diet Coke was not bad though.
To add insult to injury, he charged me $11.99 for the $5.99 special. I guess I paid for a lesson today: stay away.
Food: 1 star.
Service: 1 star.
Atmosphere: 1 star.
Caveat: I think this place stays open till 4am. So if you’re on a bender, this establishment may not be a bad choice.

This place has gone downhill. Customer service is horrible. This is the second time I’ve come in here in the past 2 years and have had the same experience. From walking in the door the older gentleman frying the chicken just looked at me, I greated him, no response. He turned back to me and just stared at me. I said “hello hi your not going to great or speak to your customers?” He kind of just half smirked and said hi. I just walked back out. The last time I was here 2 years ago it was the same rude experience. Its sad back then when I was a teenager visiting here was a great experience with people who cared about good customer service and conversation. I would never recommend this place. Suprised its still in business.

My partner has ordered here before from grubhub but the last 2 times we order it gets canceled because they are closed. Google says they are open til 4am so why is my order being canceled? Someone working tonight called me and told me my order was ready an hour and a half early when it’s a grubhub delivery. They could have told me then so I could have canceled my order and order somewhere else. Fix your hours on Google or grubhub!
