5 stars for 5 reasons
1. The fried chicken def one of the best in the Gaithersburg area but I’m not sure about the DMV area. Super crispy, fresh and juicy! Nicely flavored and not too salty, done just right.
2. Price is super cheap for everything
3. Quantity is insane! A lot of food be prepared to eat it in 2 days
4. The owner is super nice and workers there as well.
5. Good size menu and has a lot to offer
I would rate this place a 4.5 if possible because the sauces they have are ok and the fries came out kinda soft; not crispy enough still good.

I try to try something new every time I go here. The chicken is amazing and the french fries. The cheese steak is really good as well. Try the crab cakes dinner this time as my coworker wanted some. It was good. It came with 3 small crab cakes. Can’t wait to try something new on my next visit.
The service is outstanding as well. Thank you!

I’m blessed to be able to go here again in modern Montgomery County. Yrs back way before COVID, it had closed down from almost being burned down. Ppl were safe, the location was almost lost back then. The owner created a beautiful vision of what the brand could be and what it’d amount to over time.
I kept ensuring I stay taking care of myself to be able to treat myself to this place every now and then as I get older.
I, alongside the MoCo community, really missed this establishment after the fire years ago. We thought it wouldn’t return. We’re happy that it did ❤️ and can enjoy it again. It’s one of those businesses that just always has a home here, you know?

I was heartbroken when the Rockville location closed, but thrilled to discover their original spot in Gates is still going strong. This place serves hands-down the best fried chicken I’ve had in the DMV area. The chicken is fried fresh to order—crispy, juicy, and never greasy. Plus, their fries come dusted with Old Bay seasoning, which adds that perfect local flair.
It’s a small family-run restaurant, and they take the time to do things right. Since they fry the chicken fresh, I highly recommend calling ahead if you’re in a rush—it usually takes around 15 minutes if you order on the spot.
Overall, a must-visit for anyone who appreciates quality fried chicken. Definitely worth the wait.

Came here for the fried and they didn’t disappoint! I have not been in Old Towne Gaithersburg since I moved, so the trip was just for getting the delicious fried chicken. We ordered 3 piece dark meat and 3 piece white meat. Both were made to order and wonderfully done. It was a little bit salty to my taste, but it does not leave you thirsty. The crust was different from other places: crispy but also think and very flavorful. The meat was juicy and tasty that you could not help but eat the whole thing. I enjoyed every bite.

I opened my take out fried chicken meal box to the largest chicken breast I’d ever seen! The outside was crispy & perfectly seasoned and th inside was so juicy & tender. It was my first time there but surely won’t be my last!

Had a taste for chicken tenders and this place did not disappoint! The young lady at the counter was very polite/helpful/friendly, the tenders looked different to me, but tasted amazing!! They were cooked to perfection (perfectly crispy)! The fries are out of this world! They are super crispy and seasoned wonderfully! I will definitely be back!

Ordered through Door Dash….
The Chicken is NOT FRESH and clearly re-cooked in old grease, as well as, LOADED down with season salt!!! I’m so pissed off right now! I spent damn 40.00 on soggy fries and old salty chicken. This is NOT COOL at all Chicken Basket!!!!

I love eating here but today I ordered a supreme steak and cheese and had a long black hair in my sandwich. I work at a food establishment but it is required for us to ware hats and food nets. Love you but be careful.

There’s no way these reviewers are eating at the same restaurant I am. This was a great spot many years ago so I was excited when I saw they reopened. Unfortunately, the new experience was terrible. One star for the steak and cheese since it was edible. The chicken was super salty and still had feathers on it, the fries had hardly any seasoning, the roll was hard, and the coleslaw tasted like vinegar. Luckily I’m only out $23, but we won’t return.
