Our group placed an order totaling approximately $60, with each person ordering separately. The cashier, who appeared to be a newer employee, was polite and seemed to be handling orders appropriately. One member of our group was hesitant about ordering, but we encouraged her to order a mac and cheese. She clearly ordered it, and the cashier repeated it back to her I personally heard the confirmation.
Our food arrived quickly, which we appreciated. However, the mac and cheese was missing. I returned to the counter to let the staff know. Instead of immediately addressing the issue, I was handed an empty cup, which was confusing and uncomfortable. It felt as though our concern was not being taken seriously.
We were then asked to provide our receipt, which I understand as part of standard procedure. However, the situation escalated unnecessarily. Despite our group having a substantial order, it became a dispute over one missing item. We were ultimately required to pay again for the mac and cheese, even though it had been ordered and verbally confirmed. By the time it was finally brought out not by a manager, but by another young employee most of our group had already finished their meals.
Additionally, while this was happening, several employees were standing around behind the counter. There did not appear to be any urgency or leadership stepping in to resolve the issue. In my experience, when there is a mistake, a manager typically addresses it directly and ensures the guest leaves satisfied. That did not occur here.
The cashier also reprinted the receipt to show whether the item was listed, even after we had already provided our original receipt and stated we would simply pay for it to avoid further delay. The entire interaction lacked the level of professionalism and customer care I associate with Chick-fil-A.
As a premium member and frequent traveler who regularly chooses this brand, this experience was disappointing and does not reflect the standard of service I have come to expect. Based on this repeated negative experience, we will not be returning to this location.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and reviewed with the appropriate team, as this is not the level of service customers should receive.
