I am from out of town, my family lives in the area. Everytime I come home to visit I have to get a XL spicy sauce all the way pizza which is always good. However not this time which leaves me to leave this reveiw. My pizza literally had hair baked all throughout the pizza. I was literally eating a slice and went to give my son a slice when I’ve notiecd a small piece of hair. As I pulled the hair out, a long string of hair followed that was literally baked into the pizza. After examining the pizza my sister and I found multiple pieces of hair baked throughout the pizza. I immediatley called and spoke to a women (Angie) who then said we could bring it back. When we got there with the pizza we both examined the pizza and found more hair. Angie apologized and offered us something elsle but I was DONE! It was the most disgusting thing i’ve ever seen. Being a Food Safety instructor and proctor for SERVSafe I immediatley started asking questions and given suggestions, I started to leave my card and tell Angie to have the owner call me becasue cleary a food safety trainig on personal hygiene is needed. Of course this did it for me. However my family told me they have another location in the area. I may give that location a try the next time I visit. But if I go in there and see them working with no hair nets on I’m walking out.

Just grabbed a couple of pizzas and decided to try their specialties. Well they were both great but this month’s Big Kahuna did not disappoint. I shared it with friends and it was a hit. Definitely need to go back and get a few more before the month ends (or maybe they make it a permanent pizza). Great service, great specials and great tasting food.

We got takeout calzones. The food was good, ranch was awesome, but 2 calzones cost almost $30 for takeout. Not sure how I feel about that.

The staff are awesome! They were friendly and inviting. The restaurant is cozy and welcoming. The food is outstanding. The salads are above standard and are definitely the freshest of the fresh. The salads are also very well pronged. The garlic knots are “busin busin” as the kids would say. And the pizza! Xtra Large means extra large here! The sauce is exquisite, the ingredients are yum, and the crust is perfectly crispy and not thin! If you’re looking for a pizza joint while you’re traveling, take the extra 2 to 3 miles to travel past Chicho’s Pizza! You won’t regret it!

Chicho’s has opened a second location in Chesapeake and I’ve been itching to give it a try, especially since the my experiences at the other one have been miserable. After spending most of the day on Saturday working on a retro hardware project I stopped in here on the way home to order some carry out.
First thing, this place is tiny. When you walk in the door you have to hang an immediate right and then a left to go into the dining area. There’s a small bar on the left side and tables along the right wall. These are high top tables just like the old Cho’s on Atlantic Ave at the oceanfront. There were a couple of people at the back end of the bar and a couple of the tables also had guests. The guys at the bar were drunk, which leads me to my second thing… It can get very loud in here. I’m sure that’s because it’s so small. The drunk guys were loud, and talking to a girl, I’m assuming one of their girlfriends, on speaker phone. The whole room could hear it. They were real classy.
Anyway, a server named Kelly ended up taking my order. It was apparently her first day and she was coping with it. I let her know I wanted to order a pizza to carry out and a pint while I waited. Keeping it simple I ordered a large pepperoni with the famous Chicho’s spicy sauce and for the brew I had a Devils Backbone Vienna Lager from the tap. They had 8 beers on tap by the way and there were other bottled options as well.
My order took about 20 minutes and I sipped my lager and worked the apps on my phone. Once the pie came out and I paid the bill and was on my way. Just a note, on Saturdays they appear to have a $10 special on 2 topping pizzas. They were changing shifts and I overheard the new sever telling my server about that. She corrected the bill for me before handing it over to be signed. That was cool, she could have let it go and I wouldn’t have been the wiser. All in all it ran me about $16 with the tip.
How was the pizza? It was excellent. I took it home, dropped the box on the stove and opened it up… Plate loaded! Taste was excellent, and I do mean excellent. I was very happy with the pie. Will I be back, definitely and next time I may just eat in.
