Chicharrones Imperio was a great find in Commerce City.
Their specialty is chicharrones, and they offer a few different styles depending on what texture you prefer. Everything we tried was fresh and well prepared, and the chicharrones were definitely the highlight.
The carnitas and al pastor were also excellent. Both were well seasoned and served with corn tortillas, rice, beans, grilled jalapeños, and guacamole. The overall meal felt authentic and satisfying.
I even tried their menudo, which isn’t something I usually order, and it was surprisingly enjoyable.
After the meal I ended up ordering extra carnitas, pastor, chicharrones, and tortillas to take home, which says a lot about how much I liked the food.
If you’re looking for solid Mexican food in the area, this place is worth visiting.

Order at the counter then take a seat if you’re dining here. The tacos were absolutely delicious! We tried carnitas, carne asada, al pastor and barbacoa. Red and green salsas very flavorful. But the star of the meal was the pork belly with a side of guacamole. We’ll be back for sure!

It’s a quant spot with the most delicious barbacoa and carnitas. We’re in love with both and walked out for $25 with half pound each. The dark red salsa is the best!!! So glad we found a bomb spot 10 minutes from home.

I came here with the intentions of carne asada fries & they were out. Sad day. I then ordered tacos, but $2.49 for mini tacos is not it. Their food is good overall but it is over priced.

Worth the wait but would recommend you come middle of week Tues-Thurs! Friendly staff! Great pork items/ pack your patience if you come on a weekend. I’m loving my menudo and carnitas!!

Found this spot on YouTube. It was delicious on the video. My wife and I went to celebrate Valentines Day and it was some of the best tacos I could find here in Colorado. We have been looking since we moved here and everything has been under par. The chicharrones were a little over cook but delicious still. Guacamole was fresh and scrumptious. The tacos I wish could have been the regular 4 inch tacos but they are the small street taco size thanks to America’s capitalism. Shout out to the ones still keeping it real with the regular sized taco. But nevertheless the tacos are still banging. You can buy a pound of meat of your choice and fresh tortillas if you want. I would recommend that instead. We bought some togo and I’m still eating of them now.

OMG!!! I have found my new favorite spot! Absolutely amazing and authentic food! I don’t usually go for tacos al pastor, but these were packed with flavor and so good. Definitely recommend this place!

Hands down, the BEST Mexican food my wife or I have found in Colorado, coming from living in California/Arizona where authentic Mexican food restaurants are abundant, we have had a hard time finding a place that was as good as what we had. But our search has ended, this place is absolutely amazing, all the staff was very nice and helpful, the food was next level, and the atmosphere was great!
