BEWARE!!!!! I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant for a while, and my family and friends have ordered from here many times. I’ve even recommended this small hole-in-the-wall spot to others because the food has always been fresh, well-cooked, and flavorful. I especially love ordering from them when I’m next door at the wine bar for R&B night on Fridays.
Unfortunately, my most recent experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered two of the “Girl You Ain’t Hungry” meals, and when we got home, there was blood inside the chicken wings. On top of that, the food was completely unseasoned and tasteless — nothing like it normally is.
I tried calling that same night, but no one answered. I called the next day and was told the manager would only offer 15% off my next order because I didn’t report it that night — even though I did try calling.
This was a huge letdown from a place I used to love and recommend. Between the undercooked chicken and poor customer service, I won’t be returning.

That kind of reliability is rare, and it’s exactly why this spot stands out.

First time here got a 3 piece strip with fries and drink can not complain food was good. Only wish I asked if the fries can get cooked a little longer cause I like them a little crispy but still give it 5 stars keep up the good cooking . Definitely will be back this weekend

Owner is very rude. Won’t be going back. Family loves the food and for her to be so rude we were very upset.
Also I’m editing my review now because the response is terrible from the owner on here. So above is what I previously said and now I’m saying this… I said the food is good so how is that sabotage. The other staff has always been nice even the guy chef in that back was wonderful. It was the terrible experience with the owner and her nasty attitude is the problem. My father and son always want chicken shack and we come there but not anymore because between her bad attitude and now her response to my previous review it doubled down on why we won’t ever be back. More like you are sabotaging your own business. And what will the police do arrest me for a honest review on a bad experience we had with your business. Please stop it.

DoorDashed from there one day and while delivering the food smelled so good I went back to try it. It was amazing. Chicken was so juicy and tender and the sauces are amazing, the mixed sauce is hands down my favorite of the 4 I tried.
Definitely will be going back!

This was my second time enjoying the wing lunch special. The owner was sitting there while the cashier rung my order up. She asked was i a reward member. I said No. The owner said the first time you came no one asked for your number. I said No. She said you get a free Kool aid for that. I was sold after that because I appreciate her customer service and how she pay attention. Some of these establishments dont give you anything for an inconvenience. The wings are nice size and seasoned well. I have absolutely no complaints. The lemon cake is DELICIOUS FYI!!! I will definitely be returning.

Chicken order was horrible!Ordered 1 6 piece cooked hard with lemon pepper. Couldn’t take any lemon pepper and a speck of mild sauce. The other 6 piece wing and 4 pieces wing wasn’t supposed to be fried hard and it was fried very hard. Both of The chicken wings orders had a speck of mild sauce on it and no mild sauce on the fries. Before I left with my order I asked the lady is there mild sauce on the order. One of the young cooks stated I put love in that order and laughed. I am disappointed because we like to support the businesses in Lansing. I tried to call and tell them about the order and no one answered the phone.

This place has great bed side manner and make you feel welcome every time you set foot in their establishment. That said, the food is the real reason for this post. Their chicken is always fresh and the french fries are the best. No batter seasoned french fries; just the plain, firm on the outside tender on the inside 3/8 inch cut french fries. I always get an extra order of their fries. I guess you can tell, i love french fries. The chicken and their fish is fried well with no greasy residual which says to me, they change the cooking oil very frequently and that makes a big difference in the end product. The sauce is great (hot and mild) and again the service is outstanding. I look forward trying other menu items like the shrimp and some of their sandwiches. However, for Friday in my house, it fried chicken and fish period. My treat to myself for eating balanced through out the week. Keep up the good work and putting out a great product.

extremely overpriced especially for the size portions but that’s not even the real issue my food not cooked all the way I told the employee of the bar there response was it be like that sometimes offered to take it back for a replacement I received replacement just to get a order that wasn’t mine and food still under cooked I walked next to see what’s the issue myself to see a man come not change his gloves and touching multiple things nobody has hair nets on and the chicken is sitting on the table in a bin that told and showed me enough I didn’t ask for my money back I just walked out I will never come back that bar re
