They serve some of the best Thai food in the area, and their rice is simply good! From appetizers to the entrees. I do find it a hit and miss on some of those dishes, but mainstream dishes are always good. The atmosphere is wonderful, with lovely decorations, especially during the holidays. They do have live music on Thursdays and Saturdays during holiday season. The service is top-notch, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I visit often for a sit-down meal, and when I’m not able to, I always order takeout.

Food is really great! Good amount of serving. Price is just right. Service is not bad. So far, a better Thai restaurant we have visited.

Excellent! I can’t believe it took us so long to try this place. Nicely decorated, with friendly service, and delicious food. The best panang curry I’ve had in a long time. The noodles were also absolutely delicious as well as the fried rice. Cant wait to go back and try more of their specialty dishes

We chose this location because it was spacious for baby troller and of the good reviews.
Indeed the food was good as we expected, comparing to many Thai restaurant we tried in the DMV this one has the closest taste of Thai food. We liked the Pad thai the most, the crunchy of the noodles and its taste, we expected the shrimp to be more fresh, same for the Tom Kha. The larb had many veggies like in Thai, the taste of the meat in fish sauce it great, not to salty, however I still can feel that the roasted rice is still too big and need to be crushed more smoothly to avoid breaking the taste.
I would like to say that I would give 4 start because of the dessert, the lava pandan cake was over cooked that it lost it shape and theres no lava coming out, it just normal pandan cake.
But the staff was very attentive and delivered a good services, therefore I would give 5 star for encouragement.
Will coming back to try others food soon.

Fantastic! Our waitress was amazing and polite. She recommended their new drink, the pinky milky drink, and it was so good. A very unique taste to it. There were so many choices on their menu and you can tell everything was so fresh. We will definitely be going back!

Chang Mai is the highest standard of Thai I have experienced. My families go to spot for 5 years! Their food speaks for itself and I’m so happy they were able to upgrade to their current location. The feng shui is incredible, their food it elite, warm staff, fun cocktails, and it’s family owned! My favorite dishes are the panang curry, pad Thai, drunken noodles, and the ka pow krob.

It’s my first time here since they moved to the new location. Basically, the prices have increased by 2-3 dollars for most dishes. The Dirty Thai iced tea is too sweet for my taste, but the papaya salad’s seasoning is spot on.
There’s nothing special about the calamari rings; you can skip them.
The rest of the dishes we ordered are tasty, but I’m not sure they’re worth the price anymore.

Khao Soi (Chiang Mai noodle dish) is a must! This is the ONLY Thai restaurant in the area that I’ve found to offer this traditional northern Thailand soup noodle dish AND it is completely authentic to eating it in person in northern Thailand. Having lived in Thailand for three years, I had withdrawal not being able to find it here in the states and how lucky to discover a little mom and pop restaurant right here in McLean with 5 tables and chairs originally and within walking distance to my house! The couple who owns the restaurant has since expanded to a space nearby that can seat 50. Everything we have tried on the menu is excellent and it is my go to place for when I want a truly home-cooked meal. You will be asked what kind of meat you would like in it. I’m a medium spicy preference and I just eat it the way they make it and it is perfect for me as far as spice. A real gem! It’s especially lovely in the spring and summer to sit outside. Best to make reservations ahead of time!

We had a great experience at Chiang Mai Thai Cookhouse.

The food was tasty. My favorite was the Chiang Mai Noodles and we also liked the minced pork and Hoi Jor. The dishes were not too spicy. The only dish we found average was the panang curry.

The service was excellent. Our server ensured that we were comfortable from beginning to end.

The restaurant had nice vibes inside. Outdoor seating was also available.

The food and presentation were fantastic. We had the papaya salad, a spicy ground chicken dish and a saucy chicken dish. The cocktails, service and atmosphere were very nice, too. We enjoyed the outdoor garden seating.
